I look at it the same way I look at someone putting a carbed SBC in a Supra. You're taking the brand's flagship model and putting a motor from the 1950's in it...

Main reason the LS motor is a better choice is it's lighter and make more power easier. Keeps the weight balance the same so it doesn't spoil the RX7's great handling.

But anyway, Yes, let's ban LED's because they're "bright" when that's the whole point... Not to mention the main safety part of them that they come on faster than a normal bulb (yes this makes a difference in reaction times)
Honestly, I wouldn't use it. Some erosion in the water jacket is normal (because the car is old and most people don't change their coolant) but lean/detonation damage is a different story...

Auto will go a bit higher because of the gear ratios. It wouldn't be hard to go higher with taller tires or increased rev limit, but of course you need the power to get there...
