Slightly modified motormounts from a 98 MK4 supra will work. Thats what I'm running and they are much stronger than the 89-92 MK3 motormounts. You will have some extra vibration, but its not too bad.
"If they sold a 3.5 I6 or 4L I6 that was just a stroked form the factory JZ engine. I'd say that's the engine for me."
I couldn't agree more.. There is no way that I would spend extra money for a used engine with less displacement. And there is no way I would spend lots more money on a used...
I'm not sure which one would be the bigger accomplishment: Making 639rwhp on stock internals with a stock ECU. Or potentially making 700+rwhp on stock internals with AEM ecu. Either way, 630+ rwhp is pretty incredible for a stock internaled engine; Something many import and domestic engines can...
I think what Clip is trying to say is to have a variable inlet side to the turbine housing. Maybe thinking that (a smaller opening) would increase the exhaust gas velocity hitting the turbine wheel, thus creating faster spool-up at low RPM's. And then the inlet would open up at high rpms's to...
The T61 turbo can make a lot of power, but its going to be laggier than some of the more modern 61mm turbos like the GT35.

Gotta love the internet.
Lookin good X-man.. I thought you were going to have a built motor in there. I guess it will make it that much more interesesting to see how well the stock internals will take that kind of power. Is the head stock still? I wonder how much power you can make with that huge turbo and stock head...
Yeah it looks like his testing compared Time and RPM rather than Boost or Power/Torque to RPM.
I have seen a couple of BB 67mm turbos dynoed on 2JZ'z. One a T67BB .68A/R, and the other being a GT4067BB. Comparing them to every 67mm dyno on www.moreboost.org, they made more power and torque...
Great info X-Man... Are you using the ITC to change your timing under boost?
With the "luck" I have had with my 7M running 400+rwhp for so long now, I wouldn't even consider an engine swap.
All I really needed was the car to make more boost. I had C16 in the tank. My dyno chart is in the dyno section. I'm pushing about 485rwhp at 24psi, about 20 less than what I dynoed at.
Just fyi, i ran my CT-26 upgrade at 11 psi with no fuel cut and no problems with stock fuel and AFM for about a year. I did start hitting fuel-cut at around 12psi. Talk about a night and day difference when I added 550's LexAfm, and 18psi. To be honest, the sup kind of felt like a dog at 11psi...
"Stay away from the SP61GT. They are quite problematic. the JT61GT is the
same thing as an SP61GT, but with a better exhaust wheel, better ehxuast
housing, better oil feed and cooling lines, better wastegate. I have sent two
out, and I'm sure customers will chime in in the next few weeks on...
Why wouldn't you want to go smaller than a .68 A/R housing? If you want quick spool, get the .58. It won't sacrifice that much power. I have the SP59GT and I wish I went with the .58 instead of the .68.
Theres nothing wrong with experimenting or saving money. I just know from experience that when you take chances with unproven parts that are dealing with boost, it can cost you an engine. My low compression engine is proof (thanks to cheap wastegate lines that melted causing 29 pounds of boost)...
I use the ACT pressure plate. Its a little bit heavier than stock or the SPEC, but not still not bad at all. It is grabby, and not nearly as smooth as stock, but its still plenty streetable.
I thought no one was ever going to respond to this thread..
My car has gone through many small changes recently. Right now:
HPF turbo kit/Sp59GT
550's/Lex AFM/Walbro/AFPR
Tanabe exhaust/ testpipe
AMS intercooler/pipes/Ebay BOV
AVCR/AFC
Cometic 2mm headgasket/ARP rodbolts/ stock...
FYI, the HPF Bronz clutch will weld to a aluminum flywheel too. I have first hand experience. Simple solution, go with the stock flywheel.
As for Spec clutch: I had a Spec 2 and I liked it alot but it was not up to heavy drag racing with sticky tires. Wasn't there a thread a while back about...
