You can't change the speedometer gearing AFAIK. You MIGHT be able to if there is a drive and driven gear that will fit, but I don't know if such a thing exists - if it did, it'd be WAY more work than you'd want to do.
The controversy typically comes from people who have never actually tried it. When I bolted on just the AFM (no other changes) to see what happens, the ECU essentially compensated for it and A:F ratios hardly changed at all. It also cancelled out the benefit of the AFM as well.
It it 'splodes...
As long as it's regulating properly while in use (ie not somehow jammed shut) you should be grateful, not suspicious.
FYI, my A1000-6 & Walbro 255HP hold more than 2.5kg/cm2 and although I've never timed it for how long it holds; saying they shouldn't hold pressure is bogus. More likely then...
IMO it's really close between whale tail and the 89+ stock wing. Since your option is whale tail - I'd go with that. I think it looks more like it belongs if you have one or two other minor body tweaks as well.
Honestly I'm not sure. Pure speculation: It somehow improved emissions, or they found some benefit to keeping the TB/ISC at the same temp as the coolant (perhaps in extremely cold environments). Someone else may be able to give a more definitive answer.
Personally, I bypassed it when I was in a...
Yep, when the temp is turned all the way down the flow valve closes completely - so it shouldn't be an issue I don't think.
You can run a bypass tube to eliminate the circuit through the ISC/TB without issue as well, but I don't think capping off the ports on the engine are a good idea for this...
Finally got around to trying a couple different ECUs, one was clearly fucked, but the other passed the diag checks fine and presented with the same problem. So, I'm at a loss again, I may re-install the tail light failure box for shits and giggles at some point but right now I think I may be...
BTW, I should note if the CC flashes when it gets cancelled then it should store a "type b" code which will give you an idea of the issue more quickly/easily.
