    I deserve the Hall of Shame....Code 24

Why on earth you posted this I will never know, you've got one thick hide! It is hilarious though!

excessive blow by, compression and leakdown results inside

How long (in hours if you can approximate) has it been run? A full season of road racing depending on how long is a pretty abusive thing... It could just be normal wear and tear, I would retest at TDC for each cylinder.

Why use higher pressure radiator cap?

I feel like this is insinuating that coolant gives more advantage than it actually does. Typical glycol antifreeze is something like 4-5 deg F higher boiling point over normal water at the same cap pressure. Race car's 35-40psi caps dramatically raise the boiling point, but it's not to...

    Tire Pressure?

For every day driving, and I assume some spirited cornering now and again, just start a few psi above the stock pressure (32) and see what nets you the most even tire wear.

    Is this a good buy???

    I advise against it.

Another winning thread from Spaniard. Surprisingly low amount of unnecessary profanity though!

Oil Leak between timing cover/head patchable?

Grim - I had a feeling, but I figured I would ask the shade tree mechanics on here to see if there was some crazy redneck solution. ;) Looks like I'll have to live with it for a while longer and either get a spare motor and fix this later or tear this one down again and try to fix it - not...

Oil Leak between timing cover/head patchable?

OK, that makes more sense. I was thinking it would be awfully difficult to slide is back on and have it seal properly. The studs are the only thing that aligns the two?

Oil Leak between timing cover/head patchable?

It's not the CPS o-ring or the CPS. 1st I replaced the o-ring, then the entire CPS because of internal leaks. Not any seal on the front of the motor, I checked them all, none were leaking more than a tiny seep but I had new ones so i replaced them anyway. No change in leak volume after I...

Oil Leak between timing cover/head patchable?

Hi everyone, I've had a slowly growing leak that I could never really pinpoint for quite some time now that seemed to come from just above the water pump near the front of the motor. Now that it has become fairly catastrophic (quarter size puddle when parked), it's pretty apparent that it's...

I really dont know what year my car is....?

08/88 is not considered an 89 no matter how hard you wish it to be. Edit - My mistake, I thought I had typically seen 09/88 as being the start of the newer generation, looks to be 08/88.

what do you guys think of this IC pipe?

I had the cast elbow, made a new one out of Al. The result is a lighter, cheaper, same performance part as that Speed-Source thing.

    Replacing the Head and Headgasket

American Racing Products - kind of doubt it's any MM size. A quick search would have shown you that many people have thread inserts installed in the head during machining, or get a kit and do it themselves, or just get whatever insert style they like and do it themselves.
