Yeah. I had one crap out after well less than 1K miles (probably less than 500). Car passed emissions, then 2 years later wouldn't pass anymore. Put a new cat on and it was good to go again.

It just makes finding the leak easier. You could also inspect every single hose, but small leaks would be tough to find.

If you're losing coolant, it's either a leak or BHG. Pressurize your cooling system to see if it's a leak first before trying to figure out if it's a BHG. I assume the overflow isn't overflowing after a long/hard drive?
I think shaeff got the last set from them years ago. Try contacting them anyway to see what they say. If they don't carry them anymore, I have a set for sale (the guy suprahero was referring to in post #8). PM me if you're interested.
Don't plug the line for the overflow. It's there for a reason.
Have you checked your thermostat and radiator cap to make sure they're working properly yet?
Just to add here, I currently have a 1 piece AL driveshaft and have had zero vibrations up to ~90. Haven't gone faster than that (don't plan on it either any time soon). Point is, driveshafts will vibrate at different speeds on different cars.
This is exactly why I didn't get the Nightpager kit. I didn't want to have to modify a rotor or use a spacer ring that could fall off (I've seen photos of kits where there was no ring installed).
