ok this "wrong mount" i was talking about is a solid motor mount. This solid mounted car needs stockers. My bad for the confusion..
Pull the bits...you mean there's a threaded rod in the block? sorry, never really looked at it. Can i use two nuts to back it off?
ahh tarter sauce. that sucks.
Im gonna have to take a look at that, i hope theres a way around it. maybe a special tool i can make or something.. Two bolts right?
Thanks for the info guys!
So i'll be sure to have my tsrm handy and a bunch of labels.
ill try to take many pictures, we'll see how it happens
Any tricky bolts i should know about? You know those ones you lose an hour on..haha
i read somewhere i should have some adhesive foam stuff to replaced...
exactly!
let's just say the supra in for the change has the "wrong" mounts;)
So what's going to be in my way of doing motor mounts with the engine in the car?
There was a writeup on here on removing the dash and replacing the heater core. The page is down now. Any saved those pictures? Or anyone got any dash removal pics or tricks?
So i can't find anything in the tsrm about the motor mounts.
It's gotta be in there, but i dont see it.
So how hard would it be to swap motor mounts from one pre89 to another?
Is it as easy as holding up the engine, removing bolt, removing mount, reinstall....or what else is involved here...
oh boy! great work! another beautiful piece to your one off piece:naughty:
wish my dad still owned that machine shop. tarter sauce.
hey how does your CPS fit in there with that jolly ol' turbo in place? looks tight. or did you not use that thing anymore? haha
i got a garmin nuvi. i like the tank icon the best out of their bunch. the burrito is way too large i think..heh
and also, i find the tank pretty appropriate when driving the supra around :biglaugh:
that sounded great!
say, what steering wheel is that. nice and stock looking, i like it.
how do you have your camera mounted?, it was really nice and stable
nice, i enjoyed that
especially the black one that was spinning around like a top.
the in-car view clip makes me want to put together the camera mount i never finished
Pull the speedo cable out where it comes out of the tranny. Spin it and have someone watch it at the other end. The cable comes apart in a couple pieces, so you can test in sections.
I ended up swapping my whole cable, but the problem layed in the snapped cable in the elbow piece comming from...
