It's been done before. Panda Garage dropped a 7m into one of their ae86 cars, and then sold it for 8k I think.
I see upgrading a car without sourcing the current problem like sweeping dust under the rug. Could cover it up now, and really bite you in the ass later.
^ LOL
And now for something a little more mellow. The evolution of the surfing wipeout. Well, it's still kinda brutal to watch cause some of the wipeouts are on a more epic scale.

Looks like the front blinkers just run from the nose, around the corner of the body, and then... off the face of the earth? Leaves something to be desired, IMHO.

The W58 can handle a stock 7M-GTE's power, but you're going beyond that so just get the R154 and save yourself the problems.
Also, here's some differences between the both: W58 vs. R154
Edit: Parts need to be matched, i.e. using a W58 = using a W58 drive shaft, etc.
Is it twin turbo?
Is it JDM?
Crap, bmoss beat me to it.
Also have heard the, "What car is it?". Hell, Ed.d used to have an 86.5 and I thought is was an FC way back in the day.
O2 sensor bung cost me ballpark 10 bucks from HPF for a LC-1 WB. It was then drilled, followed by Dremel after it was sized on my DP. Welded it 1/2 at a time, and it didn't warp. If you don't have a welder on you, there's probably someone who would do it for cheap since the bung is tiny.
The amount of torque thrown at the w58 is what is going to bring it down. Maybe that's why I've seen it on some 1j builds, :sarcasm:
I'm hoping that you'd switch to a r154 instead of making a built w58 if you decide to go bigger.
Yeah I know it's a standalone EMS, I managed to dig up some older threads on that. I didn't want to end up getting it, and then receive the "You get what you pay for: fast, cheap, reliable." bit. I don't really want to 'cheap out' when it comes to the EMS, so I was wondering if I should wait...
Hello everyone,
Before we get started, I'm just going to get this out there: I've done some spotted reading on tuning and engine management, but consider myself far from even being a n00b at it.
My car is finally getting around to the point where I'm getting close to starting it. Thing is...
