I've never done a 1J swap personally, but after doing a 2J swap I can't really see how it would be terribly much easier. At least when swapping into a MA70 plateform as was the case for me. However, if you are swapping a 2J into a JZA70 I could see how this may be a small bit easier considering...

I'm pretty sure that mkiv mounts are gonna be too tall Zumi. Pre 89 mounts are different height and possible angle too. The subframe is different on pre 89 as compared to 89+ where you can do the grind thing you are referring to.

In your situation with that year I would personally go with the BIC mounts.
