I also am leaning toward bad bearings, unfortunately, yes a used motor, well, fix it right now, or fix it correctly later I suppose.
Any way of knowing my bearing need before I get the block outa the car so I can order some and get em on their way?
Live and learn I suppose.
Hey everyone, having a bit of an issue with oil pressure on my swapped 2jz setup.
When the motor is cold my oil pressure is great, sitting just below the "4" on the stock guage.
The problem is that as the motor warms up my pressure drop completely off to nearly nothing even during revving...
I ran a GT4088R for all of 80KM last fall before I blew a bead from a weld off the mani through it. It was real nice and smooth and quick to respond I felt anyways. I am running a 2jz though.
1 thing I would point out after my experience, which granted was in fact my fault not Garrett's is the...
I've had my H&R's on for 15 plus years and they seem fine to me, but I do put the car up on stands every winter too.
I once thought I had a sagging spring on the drivers side just like you. I have the same struts too, bilstiens. My drivers side was about 1cm lower than the passenger side and in...
It depends on how I'm driving and what mood or situation I am in. If I'm taking it real easy and I obviously won't be accelerating I prefer to clutch in. My thinking is that brakes are far cheaper then powertrain parts. Also much easier to replace. If there is a chance I'm going to need to...
I've had those on my car for atleast 7+ years and yes, they are in fact awsome. Way better than the KYB's I ran for a short while.
But WOW have they ever come down in price over the years too!
Mine are worn and need to be refurbed or whatever. Anyone have any idea how I go about doing...
You could always buy a tranny rebuild kit from DM and while your at it add on the Marlin Crawler upgrades for that little extra bit more toughening. And that would open your options furthre for finding a tranny easy and having piece of mind that it is "done" as good as can be.
There is a...
Oh, I almost forgot, ya, intake manifolds will fit the MA70, some better than others, there are a few guys here in the forums that make a pretty decent one at a more than fair price.
Any name brand ones from overseas are a VERY tight fit. I managed to fit a Vielside intake on mine but it was...
I would strongly urge going with a R154 at the very least, the W58 isn't built the same as a R154 and can not hold the same power levels as the R not for long anyways.
If you look at the TSRM cutaway pics of both transmissions it's pretty clear why. R154's can be had for reasonable dollor and...
Wow, never noticed your build thread before, looks really nice. Good stuff!
Our cars are almost twins really other than color. Glad to see another person willing to put the time, effort and cash towards this kinda project.
Looks really clean and nice.
You should pop into flashchat...
And here's the stif ripping around the track in it!

I don't think most people will realize how much of a factor it being wet played here. And it did look VERY wet to me. Still though it was their fastest wet lap ever, which isn't too bad a title either.
For the very brief 80KM or so I got of driving in the late fall I already know without any doubt I will not be keeping the car as an open dump wastegate.
Wayyyyy to loud, sorta sounds like a truck actually and I'm not digging it.
I don't need attention from cops, or anyone else for that...
I live in Calgary, my life is literally an ice rink till spring everywhere around me. Mothernature does a very thourough job of it all on her own unfortunately.
Hey who's up for......wait if you go outside you die.....hrm, nevermind......

Unless we start talking about 2 stroke motors, then there is and it actually does need backpressure for best function. On small motors anyways, like 50cc-90cc. I every once in awhile strap a chainsaw motor to a kids scooter for kicks. Got 3 of em now, damn quick little death traps too! LOL
