I don't think the damage seen here was caused by shaft play due to the damaged portions being so far inwards from the fin tips. Unless of course a broken off tip then caused this damage after colliding and breaking off and then re-colliding with the other fins. Also the housing appears...
I am willing to bet that this damage was caused by something, who knows what, but something has collided with the fins. But something has without any doubt hit and damaged the fins. Check for hose break down, a forgotten washer, something. You may even find hints of what it was left in the...
I also have run braided vac lines for alot of my 2jz swapped MKIII. The way I did it was to actually take each item and thread in the appropriate AN fitting then run the lines to it.
(T701jz.......It looks like you are not running positive crank ventilation? The little filters on you cam...
I run the AEM analog wideband myself and I find it easier to read with just a quick glance over the digitals with their constantly fluctuating numbers going by.
Just to be clear for some people whom I think may not have fully read my first post, this isn't my doing, LOL!
I personally would never and have never made an engine end up like this, which is why I had to ask what it was and how bad it is.
Thanks alot though guys, I think I got her figured...
Some people wanted me to post some pics of the old 2jz I'm changing out after failure.
These pictures of of cylinders 3 and 4 and the oilpan and whats in it.
You can very clearly see the bearings are sitting 90 degrees out from where they should be and number 4 has welded itself onto the...
regardless of which wire you end up pulling this from, mine was the pink one on M1, your going to find the speed signal from our dash to be a noisy and poor quality signal at best. I am running an aem series 2 and it allows to me have complete control over the calibration of the signal and I am...
This is a JDM engine I have picked up to replace my other 2jz that spun the bearings on the 3rd and forth rods. The engine was fairly cheap and from what I can see and test it looks like a keeper that just needs a good cleaning. I have popped the cams out now and there doesn't appear to be any...
Ok, just asking if I should hang onto this motor or give it a pass and move onto another. It's compression is 150-150-155-160-155-160.
These pics show the condition of the cams and the oily hard sludge I am concerned about, or is this nothing to worry about and I should just give it a good...
It is not going to be an easy fix, I have no illusions about this at all, the motor has massive knock and will no longer run. Just before shutting down for good, it sounded like a couple of hammers inside a dryer at all rpm ranges. I'm trying to get to the thing so I can download the logs here...
I took my car to the dyno last night and my car is done.
The only positive result of the evening is that I did develop 300HP at only 8psi. Unfortunately this would be the high of the evening.
Car developed massive rod knock and failed all together.
Here's the Dyno sheet.
It just...
looks so much like a road in british columbia I know of here in the rockie in canada on the way from calgary to vancouver. One of my fav drives of all time, it's so sweet with the roof off on a nice summer evening such fresh air and amazing scenery. The trip I and a friend will be making to get...
