Yeah, check out Probe (you should know of them since you played in the domestic world). If I didn't already have a set of JE's, I would have tried a set of their pistons and some of their 9310 tool steel wrist pins. I had plans to use their stuff on a turbo 2300 motor years ago but never...
In all the calcs there is a place for piston dish volume. Each brand of piston is different. That is how to take that into consideration... There is much more that just piston dome volume that figures in comp ratio.
anyone replaced the stock valves with dished-faced ferrea's? this will impact...
instead of just buying a 3mm hg to run mad crazy boost (and have a motor that runs like shit when its off boost) why don't you figure out what compression ratio that 3mm gasket will give (and if you really want to get into it, the dynamic ratio while boosting). That way you at least have an idea...
Doward-
I understand why you would want to measure from the crank centerline, but why wouldn't measuring the pistons at the deck be an accurate measurement? I'm not disagreeing, but unsure how an 'actual' deck measurement is less than accurate? I've done it this way for the last 10+years when...
measure the pop-up of the pistons (how far above deck the crown is at TDC).
plug that into one of the many comp ratio calcs (it is a measured value). In one of the threads here, IJ measured .020" on a stock block and piston set-up.
I measured .005 on my block with JE's and .006 off the top of...
Back in '97 or '98, I tested the Evans before it went to market. This was before they had specific radiators or water pumps. Infact, I don't know if the fomulation that I used is the same as what they sell now. But what I did notice through normal everyday usage is exactly what jdub speculated...
If that is your motor before, I would spend the money from the laughing gas, as well as the money from the motor you didn't have to rebuild again, and get some real engine management as well as someone that can tune it.
or....(feel free to chime in)
I have a Fram version that is very similar to that. $18.95 at napa. Makes life so much easier - installed it 4 years ago and love it.

The SDS does wideband O2 logging. the details are here:
http://www.sdsefi.com/datalog.htm
which would mean that you wouldn't need a narrow band O2.
for the UEGO, if it has a narrow band output, this is what you would wire in to the input for the stock ecu. (I have an LC-1, but would assume the...
