Well I finally got to the track this evening and made a bunch o runs. It's weird but I seem to be having the most traction issues in my mid to top end of 4th gear. It starts getting loose and I have to let off. Don't really understand this myself. But not a bad night overall, 12.9 @ 111MPH. A...
Honestly I would say the leak on one side has everything to do with it having issues as this is why it didn't have any fluids inside it when you attempted to drain it. This lead to the diff itself being damaged. I seriously doubt any kind of quick fix is available to you at this point through...
Some further progress on my vinyl Supramania snail.
Workin out the letter spacing and distortion a bit better than before.
Also wanted to see how small I could effectively cut it out at. I would say this is about the smallest for sure as you can see the rounding out of the letters and...
I really like the black engine bay combo with the red exterior. I would not have guessed that I would but really nice. Super good finishing and color choices overall man. Now let's see it moving! LOL
The flex-a-lites I used were also both of the S blade type. I also was using the PWM controller for both setups as well. Sounds to me that the Adrenalin Motor Sports fans may be a better more carefully chosen setup for our cars.
The Flex-a-lites with PWM (Pulse width Modulated) controller are...
Flex-a-lite's move a decent amount of air, very loud though, I tested both push and pull variations.
Nowhere near the flow of a properly setup and shrouded clutch fan setup though.
I'm back to the clutch fan setup currently. No plans to go back.
I'll keep everyone posted on the snail sticker design. I'm really not happy with it currently. But as I said I only have 20 mins or so into it so far. 1st priority ATM is to get these machines all polished up for now.
Man oh man, the fun I would have in your shop with a weekend of time IJ. Mine is just a toy in comparison. I have a manual mill and lathe that are big but wow, not that big.
Here's a link to my super old "all made of photo-copier parts" machine, cutting aluminium plate. I'll have some pics of...
I use a mixture of different cad/cam programs.
Unusually I use Maya just because of years of working with it since version .8 in the videogame industry. I say unusually because for most it is not the first or even the best choice. I would say solidworks is the industry standard/most used...
Thought I'd share my current project with a few pics since I have had some people ask. I am currently in the process of rebuilding my old cnc mill (gantry style) and a new mini mill.
The mini mill is made from the guts of a dentistry mill I recently got at an auction ($40) and was rated down...
So I was just messing around with my vynil cutter after giving it the summer off and came up with this in about 20 mins. Totally a rough draft, not at all happy with the text and it's flow in the graphic. But kinda fun anyways. Not bad for a before breakfast project anyways.
Grims right in more ways than one. I don't really believe that hood even exists. Look damn well like CGI product mockup to me. I would know I spent 6 years doing industrial design mockup images. The damn branding is WAAAAY too much too, but look at the edges of the hood around the perimeter...
Dude, you are going to have to get a rear sump oil pan, seriously. Way less work and cost than doing the crossmember. Think of the steering rack and suspensions. I know you wanna save some cash as we discussed but you can't skip the basic things that are going to make the motor fit in there...
