SAFC Wiring Diagram for 89-92 Supra NA and Cressida

i'm bringing this thread back from the dead because I believe it may be incorrect. can anybody confirm the correct "sensor type" and "sensor number" setting? I assume this would be the same for a pre 89? PR-3 seems incorrect as it denotes a MAP style (PR for pressure) sensor. I would expect...

    Oil Leak Advice Required *pics*

IJ.. not that I could see, there were no grooves in the cams, nor nicks in the cam cap/head...everything looked perfect. It was hard to inspect the seal itself since I had to cut slots in it to remove with a screwdriver... for these reasons, I am going to blame the cheap seals (ebay) which I...

    Oil Leak Advice Required *pics*

updating this again with some changes. turns out the front kept leaking after this work was performed and it was a nightmare to track down. Today, I decided to inspect the camshaft seals. I pulled of the black metal timing cover and found oil galore back there. Turns out the cam seals were...

Why you can't try to teach people about oil

I hear you man, went through the same stuff on my boards. wow, even though rx7 guy is on your side, he's wrong too. he said: "when cold the oil acts as a 10w meaning...when its cold its not as thick and when its hot it gets thicker..." maybe telling them that their engine was designed for an...

Motor ruined? Kinda a funny story...

this OP is hard to understand, it sounds like just the valve covers are off? is the head off the block? if he was washing the motor do you mean the head or the block? need clarification... assuming you're talking about him hosing down the head with it on the motor... no waterjackets are open to...

    benefits to electric fans?

mk2 guys use these fans all the time. ford contour here in the US, V6 ones only. a good, cheaper solution but I think this is an even nicer one: I have one of these in my mk2. he makes one for the mk3 too. I can't remember phil's username on this forum, but he is here too, I think. Regardless...

This one has got me puzzled

it may have been dropped or put in a vice at some point in it's life, fractured it and installed in the car. heat + vibration propagated the crack but didn't break it off flat, it still left enough tooth for the gear end of the shaft to engage the distributor end.

    7MGE mk2 1/4 miles

Some friends and I (including Jamie - sawbladz) went to the St. Thomas dragway today and I finally got some reasonable results out of my car. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the results. the car is working as it should and I have achieved my goals! 14.8510 @ 93.75 2.1581 60ft I'm very...

    Electric Fan Controller suggestions?

excellent. thanks Jet Jock. Interesting feature Left on the website for the Derale 16749 I have: • Turn-off temperature 10 degrees less than turn-on my controller never behaved like that, not once. seems like I had a dud unit from the beginning. less than a year and 5000km...Time to...

    Electric Fan Controller suggestions?

agreed, but I wanted a fan shroud. 7m + mk2 + mk2 radiator means toyota fan shrouds don't fit. I got a great deal on these fans, and they solved my problem. These flow more than enough air to keep my NA cool here in our Canadian climate; they worked great last summer.

    Electric Fan Controller suggestions?

Hey guys...suggestions needed! I have dual electric fans in my 7MGE mk2. I have one of these. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=DER-16739&N=700+115&autoview=sku It sucks. It's broken. When it did work, it had a sharp temperature on/off cut off point and...

The repair is complete! installing that transmission in-car was about as much fun as I had imagined it... Will update once the car is 100% on the road. tomorrow is a HG retorque, some wiring clean up and a car wash!

leaks found! I reassembled everything excluding the timing covers and degreased everything (cleaned up very easily...looks like new again) thanks to the painted surfaces. I tightened up all the oil pan bolts and used the dye to detect any leaks. the front of the oil pan is now completley dry...

thanks again I will keep this thread updated. the distributor area is all clean and shiny, as is the water neck. The underside (towards the front) of the water neck has some oil spray on it. whatever is leaking is coming from the lower section of the motor.

Now that I look at the pictures again, it looks like fluid is dripping out of the clutch fork hole or at leats, it's concetratiing down from there...perhaps a rear main? I'll do just that IJ. take the tranny cover off, check it out. clean everything and put the dye in the car. resealing that...

I use amsoil ATF in the powersteering. as far as I could tell, it was all motor oil but the old pump did have a slight leak that I never actually saw on the ground. it was loud (from a junkyard car that had caught on fire) and in that pic is a new "re-manufactured" pump. I really need to take...

Hey guys, I need some advice on where to go with this and what to do next... the 7MGE has been installed in my car for about 5000km and running great. One of my electric fans died and I stripped a bolt out of the water neck, so I had to work on the car to replace those things. The car also has...

1+ Year old beef patty, would you eat it?

as long as it's been frozen the entire year! I ate a burger last week that became partially unfrozen, then frozen again and in a freeze for a year. I thought "meh, it's still cool should be fine" and threw it in the freezer, where it sat for a year. needless to say, I got massive food poisoning...
