Any tips to straighten crushed heater core tube?

Flat/straight jaw external snap ring pliers work great for this type of repair. I saved many a heater core tube using this method over the years. Take your time and reshape the tube back to it's original shape.

    smoke on decel?

Thera are a couple of ways to diagnos this problem. The first is by guessing and assuming. Oil is getting into the combustion chamber/s during high vacuum conditions. The best way is to determine the general health of the engine. This can be done by performing a general compression test...

Smoke AFTER decel, good compression, new turbo, 2000mi since rebuild

So, I can assume you did not hone the cylinders? Why won't the pistons fit the bores if the ring end gaps are not clocked properly? What type of oil was used during the break in? I wish you the best, good luck on you problem.

What method was used to break the rings in. Were the cylinder bores honed? Are the ring end gaps spaced correctly around the piston? Did you pull and inspect the plugs directly after a smoking incident?

    lc1 wb, or afm?

Just for the hell of it, check your VF voltage readings at 2.5--3K, no load. You get to see what the PCM is doing at steady cruise. This would just be another number to look at in your diagnosis.

    dashpot question!

The dashpot is there for emission reasons. It allows a small amount of air to bleed past the throttle plate for a second so the already present fuel supplied can burn and keep things cleaner. As mentioned, there is a adjustment procedure.

Found a nice review of our supra

That's one reason why when people assume that all MKIII owners would prefer to own a MKIV Supra, I just think to myself, they have no clue.::shrug:: You got that right. I much rather own my 87 than some ratted out Mark IV. And yes, there's lots of them out there.

Oh, and by the way. Even thou, technically these are illegal, if aimed properly no one will ever give you grief about these lamps. I also use the osram +30 bulbs. Be careful about the bulb wattage. If the wiring is not upgraded, you're gonna start melting stuff. My car may be a fluke, but I...

Even though they are superior to the DOT headlights we have here they are not legal. I can see at night without blinding others. You...
