well i took a rod end off to see what the rod journals looked like, the one i took off looks like the top one in that pic.
i didnt take the rest of them off because when i went to take the crank pulley off it spun, aaaand the dampener keyway is buggered,

if you can get them to replace it i say go for it.
however i've read a couple things about hot-tanking being corrosive to softer metals such as brass. perhaps the vibration from the decking process was enough to rattle it loose...
yea my dads used his dumpsters for as long as i can remember, and Jen's dad work with em too.

OP, the only thing you can really do to get more oomph from the engine is bolt a turbo to it.
sooo, had a spare 7mge i wanted to rip apart to see if the crank is still good.
pull the trans off, pull the head, flip it over and pull the oil pan.
i was wondering why the damn thing was still so heavy. the PO had a ghetto "trd" hood and no valve covers on, so water seeped down over time...
if you need any suspension parts let me know, i have a complete rear subframe sittin out back. i'd be willing to cut off the camber bolts and ship out the control arm/ hub assembly.
