If you want to make some performance, there is nothing wrong with just throwing a new pump in there.
Walbro 255's are cheap too which makes it more justifiable. At least if you "plan" to change out the pump it wont fail on you with a full tank of fuel. Makes things a little easier and less...
A way to run power to your FP is just run new wiring with a relay so once the key is tuned on the fuel pump is ON! This is what Im going to do since I will be demanding performance and dont want a lean out related failure.
I just replaced my AFM with another actually since it did the same thing as yours haha. Im going to chuck the AFM here as soon as I get some more cash together and get maft-pro w/speed density. The K&N FIPK is whats wrecking the AFM's for sure since they are oiled. Im so tired of shitty AFM's.
Car is pulling hard now when its not blazing hot under the hood. Pretty sure Ive narrowed down a partially failed coil since I get scattered readings even when its cold. Once the car gets hot it has a very noticeable miss when idleing or holding it at 2k rpm.
89supracrazy you had the right...
I pull into the gas station to grab myself a drink and here is this JDM Aristo filling up at the pumps and its owner eyeing me up. I hop back in the supra and get onto the highway behind the Aristo. I start to catch up to him after a mile or so, then he puts the hammer down. Must be go time. I...
Im having the same "popping" issues as you, but with my 7M-GTE right now. I changed out the plugs and turned up the fuel pressure and it seems to have helped a lot from where it was but its still there.. Whats the issues with the 12v pump mod through stock wiring? I have noticed that the pump...
I checked double time for boost leaks
On another note I put in new plugs today, BKRE7E NGK's gapped to .27
A lot of the popping is gone now but it is still present. Cars doing some really wierd shit...
Tested the coil pack along with the high tension leads. Only thing I did notice...
I tried adjusting fuel pressure like you say with the lex and 550's but it was even more rich at 40psi, hence going down to 34psi.
Checked the ignition timing today with the jumped pins and it read 10 deg BTDC and twelve deg with the jumper removed. With the timing light attached to #1 lead, I...
Ive been dealing with a boost related mis-fire, almost like fuel cut but not nearly as violent. The higher the boost I run the worse it pops. If it stays at 11psi its all good but any more is a no go.
Fuel + Air mods are: lex afm, 550s, walbro, AFPR at 34 psi (vac off), 6an lines, j-tube...
okay, I opened up the SAFC and took a look inside. everything appears to be alright. I even did a continuity test from the pins in the board to the pins at the harness plug and they all have a connection.
I re-attempted the install of my SAFC-II the other day and in fact I believe there is something wrong with it.
I even purchased a per-89 patch harness off a member that had an SAFC wired into it. I rechecked the existing wire splices on it which were indeed correct. Then soldered on my SAFC...
Finally finished up the car mostly and put her back on the road. Some of the stuff I did.
Installed AEM Tru boost into car, yay for now more ghetto manual controllers.
Install a new accordian pipe, bye bye old leaky one
New rims and tire I picked up from the Portland Swap meet...
The supra is in need of an alignment as I think it was more then likely done incorrectly before I got it. The steering feels very "numb" and pulls to the right just a bit. Im looking to do auto cross and a little track racing this year so a more aggressive alignment would be good.
I have...
Thanks for the info satan but I only did the spacers for now (I should have been more specific)
Glad those old spacers are out since they were pretty pounded out.. Very easy job to say the least!
