Messing around with my car again.

Man, sorry to hear that. Build it better and smarter than before, not easy to say from you shoes though. At least she still looks pretty :)

    Discontinued 3 piece spoiler gaskets

Seems about right. I was planning on digging what was left of the old ones out of where ever I bagged them and measuring but the body section of my build keeps getting postponed. I don't think its all that critical it be exactly like the oem seals, just needs to keep water out of the hatch and...

    Turbo A Oil Pan?

Anything is possible to get with enough money :D Haven't seen one go up for sale for a long while, I would throw out a guess they would be in the 1k range if one did at this point.

    Centralia or Bust! ......Delilahs build

I have been making some progress despite work hours being a bit crazy lately. The car is fully cleaned out Also IT RUNS, I was able to get the harness and everything else that goes with it back together. This is the first start up in 5 years. I let it run for about half an hour to get...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

I completely understand, been there. Comp test may be a good indication but unfortunately doesn't tell you if something is up with any of the oil rings. Turbo and valve seals are pretty common culprits as it sounds you know. As for paint its a good call, I shot mine this last time but had the...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Looks great, even rattle canning it teaches you a lot about how to paint and finish properly. It looks like decent quality paint to get that finish though. I just finished fixing where someone tagged the front bumper of my truck last weekend. I chose to airbrush since it was too small for even...

7MGTE Broken Timing Pulley Guides - Possible Fix??

I wouldn't feel comfortable stressing the pulley like that with all those punch marks. Also welding cast shouldn't be an issue for an experienced welder unless toyota used some very inferior alloys. The best solution obviously would be to have a billet one cnc'd. I would also look for anything...

    ARP Head Studs Too LONG!!!!

Not questioning your knowledge or credentials, just a question. The 3 blocks I have done have all had varying but slight amounts of threads still showing but .250 seemed like more than I recall on any of them. If they thread in easily and are reaching the bottoms of the threaded portion you...

    Anyone seen this yet?!

Hadn't seen that yet but that is Duane's car. If you think it looks insane try riding in it. On his 'mild' street setting is mind blowing.

    ARP Head Studs Too LONG!!!!

^ Yes there is a difference between a standard tap intended for a nut and a bottom tap for holes like in the block. You stated that measuring proved they were not threading in all the way so obviously the threads are not clean and straight all the way down. Also did you put lube on the block side?

    Discontinued 3 piece spoiler gaskets

I even check the international system when I was trying to source a set with no luck. I haven't got around to putting the spoiler back on yet but my plan was to buy a sheet of closed cell neoprene and cut out my own gaskets.

    ARP Head Studs Too LONG!!!!

Did you clean out the holes in the block with a bottom tap before installing like the instructions say?

    Engine Girdle

I remember seeing it as well and looking at the thickness and design doubt it would do anything. Unfortunately I don't think anyone makes them for the 7M anymore. I think rich at SIP was the only one putting them out and he is long gone.

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

what type of base/clear did you use? Looks pretty good so I think your fine. UV helps the curing process on a urethane clear and the harder it is the better it wetsands/cuts/polishes. You can chase buffing marks if the clear is too soft but it doesn't seem like you had any issues.

Bolt on Big Brake Kit For around 300$.

I have always been under the same impression that slotted > Drilled >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Drilled and Slotted. For the reasons you mentioned. Having them drilled OR Slotted is beneficial for heat and pad dust distribution but having both decreases surface area and strength. Seems like the general...
