haha yeah....speaking of which my dd is an 87 sentra carburated. Totally baseline car, but it gets 35+ mpg and i only spent $500 on it and its extremely reliable. For the time being that is, until my supra is up and running. I guess im just speaking opinion, of course, when dont i? ;)

You cant be anal about engine work, not that you are, but small scratches, tiny dust particles, etc will all blow out when running :) If its something deep, you will know. Its pretty much that obvious to where you are aware it needs machining. We have gaskets for a reason!

true, but that explains 90% of all of chevys problems. Lack of ease with maintenance. Thats what makes a car a car...maintenance. i believe if you cant work on it, or make it faster...its useless.

i have a 600x300 fmic on my 87 and you have to LOOK to see it. It is by no means obvious.

ive worked on more of my friends' sbc's than any of my cars ive owned (escort lx, gt, mustang gt, Toyo pickup, Talon, F250, sentra) sorry but regular 350s and lt1s are just cheaply made right off the assembly line...even cheaper than the mexican 302s in mustangs. I dont prefer anything over...

I believe in LS1s over any LT1 any day. Smooth power and torque curves all day long and extreme reliability. All my moms corvette ever did was had a miss that would never go away no matter what we did to it. I also dont consider that a race of any kind, and more of a whoops of an engine failure.
