the pics are for the 2nd part of my post! there is a gear on the front part of the crank behind the front cover which the timing belt rides on...thats what i'm trying to get off.

Engine is sittin in the car.mostly everything hooked up top and bottom side.jus gotta put radiator,and hardpipes back on ,fill fluids,hook up electronics inside,.....and hope i have all wires connected when i try to start it!

i have both harnesses,as i was driving the 89 when it spun a bearing. and i bought a complete 87' which i am taking the stuff out of to make my 89' auto a 5sp! thanks though.

so is there a way to make the 89' auto harness work with the manual trans? since both of the engines are gte's the engine harness should be the same correct?
