I have a used Cometic MHG, and a new HKS MHG.
the HKS is a 1.2mm and with my machined head and block this is insufficent.
my cometic, i cant remember exactly what size it is but i did the math to get the correct size when i did the rebuild the 1st time.
my question is, instead of cleaning...
I'm with figgie on this one, as long as the cylinder is on the lock position you should be able to push and turn. Put some oomph behind it, if it's broke anyway what's the harm?
The numbers stamped on the side of the connecting rod at the big side, what are they?
I've looked thru the tsrm for a bit but couldn't find anything. I know the pistons have numbers that dictate their sizes, figured this is the same.
I really don't wanna have to rebuild this engine a 3rd time...
Fml today I found a decent sized spot of oil under my car...
Sooo I'm gonna assemble my original mhg 7m.
All new clevite bearings, a fresh hone, and rings.
I aquired a nice freshly redone 7mgte head complete with cams. So that's goin on the engine.
Last couple days I've been glass beading all...
I'm putting my spare motor together this week. Doing a hone, new oem pistons/rings, clevite77 bearings rod and main, cometic mhg on machined block and head that was recently redone. What else would I need that it would cost so much?
Not arguing or anything, just curious where that price comes...
Thanks guys, I think I can cut it down to a 2.0 60' and high 12s. These were my 1st runs with this clutch and I just adjusted the clutch right before that run so there's deff room for improvement.
That charger race was close as hell, he actually beat me
with a 13.159 to my 13.171.
Guys I dunno where you're gettin ur numbers from but the cheapest I could find was $250 just to machine the block and head. No assembly or dissasembly included.
Damn that sucks, seems like it's runnin a lil lean but can't tell anything else from the dyno sheet.
Hopefully it's something that can be fixed fairly easy.
Any reason you went past the spec'd 29lb/ft torque?
Torque specs exist for a reason, maybe u should read up on torquing bolts before you make
a decision like that again.
