the air flow meter is the air flow meter. we dont have "mass" air flow sensors. also a dead battery could cause the starter to click without cranking the motor. and if you left it for a few days maybe it had just enough juice to get it started.

yup, just disconnect the batt for a few minutes.

i would suggest resetting your codes and seeing if it comes back.

so today i put the pistons in, ordered rod bearings and rear timing cover gaskets from toyota. finished bead blasting the rear timing cover and oil pan (3 hours just for that), painted the oil pan silver, cleaned the tranny up some more. started putting all the stuff back on the block as well...

damn strict US health regulations, we dont get any of the good shit.

Ya that's true, I didn't take em apart till this morning tho. The shim has the stock bore, the hks hg was oversized.

I know there a couple members on here using a 2jzge making some good power. Iirc Dok's na-t build thread is a 2jzge *edit* Hvyman beat me too it

ill grab some super close macro pics of the shims tomorrow, they look identical.

i've read multiple threads about reusing MHG, including Ian's. nothing suggested is working to help in taking the viton off. and like Ian i dont want to use an abrasive on it. i really dont see what the big problem is with swapping out shims. all it is, is a different thickness sheetmetal...

thats not an option, why wouldnt i reuse a perfectly good gasket before i wasted the money on a new one.

i've tried everything to get this viton off and it wont budge, i cant really spend 10 hrs trying to clean this thing... i used acetone, paint stripper, brakleen, gasoline, surface prep, spray gun cleaner. none of it even softened it up. i really only wanna do this once, so i'll try a few...
