pull off your center trim. two crews in the ash tray and one on the driver side at the back. the just pull it from the dash and kind of up and out at back of gear shift.
(manual, i don't know if auto has any more steps.)

I'm thinking I will put a 1/2" hole in there, to get the 3/8" allen in there, and tighten that plug.
I don't think it will compromise any structure and doesn't expose any coolant or oil passages.
The plug itself is 11/16" but the 1/2" will give me enough room, for 3/8" allen, in case I don't...
