Looking at the odometer the 6 and the 7 arnt in line with the rest, this to me is a sign that the odometer has been tampered with.

Yep, bad rings. I have the same problem, number 3 cylinder is sucking oil past the rings on decel so after about a week I have about 1" of moisture and brown sludge.

Same happened to me, I put rubber fuel hose on and pushed it about 6 - 8" up the pipe and then put 3 clips about 2" appart to make sure it doesn't leak. The rubber fuel hose I used is rated to 8 bar so the pump will run out of capacity befor the pipe bursts.

I don't think Mk4 owners are arseholes either, I met some very decent down to earth owners at a meet. One MK4 guy was asking me loads of questions aboumt my old turd, I think his dump valve was worth more than my car. Like the idea of the 7M in a MK4 now that would be a unique swap
