    Intake Backfire

It's funny how true this is. When I was first driving my car the hose that connected to the 3000 pipe blew off on boost cause we forgot to clamp it back on.. Car still started and idled at 600rpm. I'd check CPS as well when I was getting my car together I had it off 1 tooth and it sounded like...

7M-GTE runs hot but does not overheat (RE-POSTED ON 7M-GTE section) SORRY

So many possibilities. My experience is my car has a slight water leak somewhere so I just make sure it's filled up, opening the rad and pouring in water until it's topped and then it's good. If it's a factory radiator that could be an issue too, mine was all rotted and nasty. Is some reason the...

    7MGTE arrived today.. (pics+questions)

That block is so pretty! That gasket just looks like a factory replacement composite gasket. Felpro uses a composite which is on my 7mgte right now.

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Well just checked codes against hsould reset the ECU and check again. But got 24 31 34 51. The air flow meter ones are new didn't have those before and I know I have fuel cut. Is their a way to narrow down if the 51 has to do with the other two options such as the A/C? I mean there are a couple...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Oh in the TSRM the TPS are just flipped over in the pictures. And I don't understand what you said was wrong about calibrating with e2 and IDL? I just followed that guide with a .7mm and turned it slowly until I had a deflect and turned it back till I had a reading. Just feels low after being...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Well my running like crap supra just drove me 6 hours to kentucky :D. Lol, the idle is around 700 rpm now, still seemed a bit low but I just had to get going and will actually take the TB off and try it again with a good DMM sooner or later and check codes again sometime. I followed the TSRM and...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Thanks for your contribution. I got a feeler and adjusted until it was within spec. I need like 4 hands to get it perfect, got it much closer idle is now down around 1000, and sometimes 700 which might be too low because after a hard pull it stalled out. And it's doing the dropping throttle if I...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

How am I doing it wrong? Putting in a thickness gauge on the throttle stop and adjusting TPS until you have nominal resistance values according to the TSRM right? I've been told loosening the screw to adjust the TPS is wrong. How else could you adjust it? Also just did the TSRM test on the IAC...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Well how else would you adjust the TPS? I know you check the resistance of the terminals based on the TSRM to make sure it's at nominal values. How else would you adjust it besides turning it slightly by loosening the screws that allow it to be adjusted? The advanced timing is caused by the ECU...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

What? I've inspected it using those instructions before yes. That guide says for inspection it doesn't tell how to adjust it. I would assuming to adjust it you would loosen the screw and turn the tps slightly for a new reading like I did correct? And like you said, maybe a few degrees in turning...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Tomorrow I'm going to actually test the valve directly with the battery as per the TSRM to see if it operates at all. Vacuum leak? Idle I have about a -25 psi vacuum. I've made a boost leak tester before to find my leak in my IC but now it'll blow my device off of the turbo before it leaks air...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Well I looked up how to diagnose a IAC and one of the options was to leave it on the harness and turn the car on and off. If the valve doesn't move at all it's not working correctly... I have messed with adjusting the TPS. I didn't calibrate it perfectly but I drove it around and kept...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Lol I was hoping for more responses about the idle because I'm lost on that versus the brakes I can do myself xD.. Yeah I know it's the shoes inside of the rear drum, it worked fine when I got it 2 years ago, wasn't strong but it worked they're probably just completely worn down. The adjust on t...

    Small Fixes; High Idle, EBrake

Fixed all the bigger problems with my swap. What's left over is mostly just fuelcut, slow start, and a high idle. The cold start will work properly around 1500 rpm. I drive slow out of my housing area, and it's at a good idle right at 1000 rpm. Drive for a little and then it'll always be at 1400...

What little things did you to do make your car feel new again?

So white bushing and common toyota socket right? Mine is an 89 w58. Edit: I'm pretty sure I remember my trans boot being square with 4 screws...

What little things did you to do make your car feel new again?

Talking about this bushing correct? http://www.driftmotion.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DM343&CartID=2. Assuming the shifters are the same between r154 and w58 right? Cheapest shipping DM offers me is 8$ for the socket sleeve and the bushing lol. Know the part number for the MC bushing...

What little things did you to do make your car feel new again?

About that mirror fix I"m not sure if I fixed it or not, I can't really hear it over my car or radio unless it's windy, but I haven't heard it yet since I just took a heat gun to that triangle piece that holds the window and squeezing it with pliers yet. I still need to figure out where I should...

    Yay or Nay?

Make sure piston rings are good and might be worth seeing if the head is warped.

    7mge to 7mgte swap

When I converted my NA it had already all the drilled and threaded holes to mount the IC and oil cooler. Depending on the engine I'd highly recommend getting the head gasket work done and at least replacing valve seals or it's likely going to burn oil because it's so old.

What little things did you to do make your car feel new again?

I'm wondering what kinds of things you guys have done to make your car feel nice new whatever again? I have just done things such as better sound insulation, floor matts, deep scrubs and clean ups. Next I'm looking to remove that annoying mirror wind noise and somehow make my door shutting sound...
