Don't have the time yet that's kind of a big project. I know nothing about how they work or what I could look for. Any writeups that show problems that can be detected or fixing diffs gripping too hard? I haven't seen any..
Yeah just got 80-90 from ford with one bottle of friction mod and it's a bit better, actually rolls a bit better too but definitely still there. Also my rear camber is off so it's sitting most of it's weight on the inside of the tire instead of the full tread. I just drove in a turnabout several...
Well it's bad enough that the inner wheel actually skips and you can kind hear the sound of the impact going through the drivetrain in tight turns. It's horribly annoying and seems like there is something massively wrong with my car when if I ever have someone else with me. Like on flat parking...
Sorry to bring this up again. But I won't have enough time to wait for redline oil to get here. So i think I'm just going to get a quart of ford oil. How much friction mod should I get for it? I'm almost thinking I should get 1 quart of oil, .25 quart of friction mod (2x 4oz bottles) and then...
http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=133&pcid=4 <-- This is what I want then? or should I get the 75w85?
Which is (http://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-50104-Lightweight-Oil/dp/B000J3G8KE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1414798119&sr=8-4&keywords=75W85+GL-5+Gear+Oil) I think? I wish red line would put...
Okay. Maybe I'll just drain mine. Get a quart of redline, and recycle a bit of my old oil back in? It's been about 5 months now and it hasn't leaked any but yeah I'll try to get it back down and closer to the 1.4 quarts the TSRM wants.
So in your opinion what do you reccomend me doing? Does too much oil make it worse? Should I just drain more oil and add more friction mod? Or start over with a quart of oil and a bottle of friction mod? That oil from my ford dealer is 20$ a quart.
Naw I got it from someone on here. I just asked them at ford when I was getting the modifier about it. Unless the previous guy did something to them, I mean when I add modifier it still makes it better. Just a pia to work on them and I don't have the money to rebuild or get a new clutch pack at...
Was shipped dry. I thought it would just take time to soak as when I went to the ford dealer they say they soak their LSDs for about a month before they install them. But no I did not take it apart or anything I knew nothing about them.
I was looking at this forum post...
I've read it's a very tight diff because it's actually air tight which contributes to it apparently, kind of impressive opening that cap after weeks and hearing air pressure blow out. I've also read that the ford gear oil and additive do magical things for our diffs. I don't understand how the...
I've had this issue for awhile I bought a 3.73 LSD from another member here, he had to ship it dry. I originally put Castrol 80-90 (http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/CAS0/8090/N2367.oap?ck=Search_N2367_-1_-1&pt=N2367&ppt=C1985) in it. As I drove it the first time when turning the inner...
I haven't really done any looking much but where I live is corvette city. There i sa drag strip, oval course and road course here. Seen a mk3 and mk4 since I moved here but don't know about any meets yet.
Okay. Also thanks! Here's a video of it actually driving.. after like 1:40 is when I do some pulls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTDclKrmpTA&list=UUMAjayFxKk-GpZaM4_4ikOQ
Ah okay. Is it a cap covering it? Where do you suggest the screw's position should be? Sorry I've been lazy I just haven't bothered messing with it at the moment.
It's been like 6+ months now and I've never really thanked everyone. I got my 89 NA 4+ years ago now. Originally my father was going to do most the swap but once we got the motor out he had no idea what he was doing. You guys helped me through so much of it, if this forum didn't exist I would...
That screw adjusts the mixture a bit? I'm not sure just looked up some pics. I don't have a o2 sensor feel like I shouldn't touch it tbh. I couldn't really see the screw but I felt it it seems to be pretty far out pretty flush with the surface.
