Do i set the timing with a gun? You said to leave the diagnostic box jumped when setting the timing, how exactly do i do this?

My dad busted this part on his car today when he tried to tighten the hose that goes on the piece. What is this called so we can replace it? It's the thing in the back that's an ugly green, the hose that goes to the right side of it broke off.

I just want something in my sig to say Michael's Supra... or something. And in black and white lettering. And supra like the badge on the mk4.

We did a little bit tonight and when we got the car at TDC on the #1 piston, the cam gears weren't pointing straigh up, should they be? If not, is there a photo of how it should look?

do i need to leave the diagnostic box jumped the whole time, or how long? I talked to the guy and he said that it's the ignition timing thats off. I'm going to set it at TDC tonight and see how it turns out.

Well the guy did it because he rebuilt the engine, and he's done quite a few 7ms/2jzs, and he put the head on the block with the mhg so i could just drop it in as one. As far as i know he knows what he's doing, he just fucked up the timing.

All done now, but the timings off. And here's a pic how the garage looks right now. haha

well who should i have do the timing then? Toyota, cause im not fond of my car being worked on by anyone unless im there.

okay, now the guy that did the timing asked how it should be to set the timing. Is it like a domestic, i mean does the engine have to be in a certain position. The guy was asking and i didnt have the right answer so i told him i didnt know.

I was told to start it and let it run, then check the turbo, since it's brand new, for shaft play. I was also told to then take it down the street once or twice and boost a little, like i did, and then come back and check for shaft play in the turbo again to make sure that it was good. That's...

I have to change the rear wheel bearings in my dads 91 supra so he can get it to the chicago meet. Any tips on doing this, and how long should it take?

Okay, i paid a guy to set the timing on my car and he did, but its wrong. we had to push the distributor down about 1" and then thread the bolt in and hold it down to get it to idle properly. Is there any easy way to fix this. You can see the bolt thats holding the distributor.
