My dad busted this part on his car today when he tried to tighten the hose that goes on the piece. What is this called so we can replace it?

It's the thing in the back that's an ugly green, the hose that goes to the right side of it broke off.

It is sold as a single assembly.

In the EPC it's listed as "Valve Assy, Heater Water", part # 87240-14140 with a list price of $162.71.

It depends what you're talking about. The VSV is actually a different part altogether, 88690-14820. The water valve just opens and closes and has the vacuum line from the VSV running into it.

Emik87t, you need a new water valve.

Aha, so the VSV can be bought separate. I was being gracious. To me it's the heater water valve, which is pretty close to what Toyota calls it. I see no mention of VSV in the description. Makes sense as parts are usually denoted by their major function. I'm still willing to concede to both noobs though. (Been dicking with this car 20 years. To me you're all noobs ;))
