Can I ask a quick question... and it may seem dumb.
What model Lexus AFM do the 7mgte's take? Or what model car do I need to hunt down in a parking lot?
Basically where do I get a Lexus AFM for the 7mgte???
Appreciate it.
Uh, under normal driving conditions I have No Wheel Hop. That's right, just cruising around, no wheel hop.
Now... When I'm goofing off or driving hard I will kick the gas around a corner not wanting to break it loose but just wanting to lauch out of it I get wheel hop.
No mods or...
It may take a little more wire, but run it along the O2 wires until it comes back up the wiring harness to the firewall.
Like I said it'll take some wire but it can be done.
Yeah try adjusting it first, spent close to an hour swearing up and down tearing the dash apart when I finally hit the dimmer switch and all the lights came on. (btw was dealing with a bad headlight switch at the time.)
Yeah this happened to me. I went out cruising and found out about the alarm system, but the final time where it just clicked is when my battery terminal was loose.
So yeah, just check the battery terminals for good connection, and try jumping the car off.
Okay, if after reaching operating temperature and you got a 'girthy' upper radiator hose, there's a good chance your thermostat is stuck CLOSED! 9 out of 10 times this is true... you should see the motor either running a little hot... or a LOT! Usually overheating occurs if this continues.
Okay, here's kinda the way the fan shroud works... Basically you want the fan to move air evenly over the whole radiator right?
basically the shroud helps create vacuum on the backside of the radiator so air moves through it better.
So if you run without it, not as much air moves through...
Hehe... yousa gonna have some fun :evil2:
Okay first off, congrats on doing it yourself. ^.^
Uh, start with pulling the inspection plate off the bottom of the bell housing, take the trans to motor brackets off (there are 2, one on each side.) Then the four MAIN bolts that hold the...
Okay... I just got done with my build, and I've experienced the same problem tonight.
First: You let it sit for a week, probably dust, critters, bugs and whatnot got cooked on it.
Second: Oil line if you no pressure at the gauge, or see oil on the ground (or do you have the bottom scrap...
Just get the whole set... it's usually cheaper. Like everybody said.. Pressure plate wears out because it's a spring, resurface the flywheel cause the flywheel surface and the clutch wear into each other (think disk brakes), and the throwout bearing could always be replaced.
One thing...
you wont like my answer, but idc.
take the timing cover off and line the cam gears up with the crank. Line the CPS up and reinstall it. If it's not a wiring probably then it will crank up and run.
If memory serves, those just pull out... be careful it's 20years old, could be brittle. If the alt fuse is broken, then it should still crank and have a 'No Charge' think going on.
Does the motor spin?
I'm all for power to radio all the time and ciggy lighter!!! Never know when the Zippo will crap out on ya.
Hmm.. couple of ways to do this.
1. Run a dedicaded wire to the ciggy wire and splice, ~sighs~ "wire" ~air quotations~ it to the hot side of the ciggy lighter.
2. Find the...
To my elementary understanding of Turbos they don't like to build boost when freespinning the motor (standing still). A guy at college boosted his Honda (off topic I know) to like 18lbs. We wanted to hear his new BOV and when he pegged it out at redlike for like 5secs, we didn't even hear it...
:nono: Umm... why would a grounding kit need a positive hook up?? I'm confused on this. I've always made up my own kits (mainly out of heavy gauge speaker wire) and hooked the big wire to the ground side of the batter that went to the block and mounted the smaller wires where ever I could...
~looks at Shipping Invoice~
Yeah I just got my build done So I still got it. :naughty:
Anyway, I used the vendor Race Engineering (raceeng.com). And I paid $139.48. But I got the MLS HeadGasket, rod and main bearings from them too.
note: if you go there, just type in the...
Yeah I know.... but it's raining today and the fuel line has to be ordered from Japan ( through toyota). Yep, the fuel line has to be searched for in the US and if they cant find it, they have to get it from Japan.
This could take a while. Fudgemuffins... :3d_frown:
