This is correct, I paid for those on top of the $320 in machining work.

typical machine shop bill for head surface and valve job?

I had mine taken apart, heat straightened, cleaned, new Toyota Valves, Springs, Retainers, valve stems/seals, 3 angle valve job, and port matched and milled to a >17RA value for $320 (plus the Toyota Parts) when I got mine done. So you look to be right in the range.

    Boost Problem =-)

Fuel cut would mean the gates not being regulated properly. Go over all your hoses, also check for codes honestly reason being my gauge is also pegged out all the time, but I'm running a upgraded CT & after market gauge. So I'm not running a boost pressure sending unit. In turn my code 34 is...

    hks head gasket took off

Yea if you are going to replace with another MLS gasket then both the head and block need to be decked. Also, if the machine shop who does this for you is a good one, they will require the internals to be removed. So while they are in there, I would have them break the glaze on the cylinder...

Everybody's build thread! Pics of before and after...

I wanted to tub out my engine bay in my Supra, but I was on a tight schedule to make it to a big Supra meet in Tampa, so that didn't get done. Looks good on a S13 though.

    PLEASE HELP! Code 14!!

I have dealt with this exact problem. I found mine in the harness grounds to the manifold. I actually repaired the ground with new eyelets, and new non conductive loom, also...someone mentioned the ground being in the position it was, was too close to the constant 12v wire going to the starter...

Time for my 7M-GTE re-build/upgrade and I have questions :)

My cams looked similar to yours, but just keep in mind, this motor is still at least 20 years old. I just had all my mirrored surfaces polished. But you will more then likely need to re-shim your valves after that. Which is what I needed to do. Not a hard task to do yourself...but there's a lot...

Degreeing stock cams. GTE vs GE.

Yea, I read somewhere that people would switch the intake cams from the NA's the GTE's because they had a larger lift but the Cygnus says the GTE's have a larger lift.

Weird RPM jump during acceleration, cant figure it out

OK will do...cause I thought the grounds that went bottom on the intake manifold, weren't making a good conection...so I put new eyelets on it and made sure the intake throttle body was making a good ground....well it fixed it for a bit then started acting up again....so Im thinking the harness...
