Do you know the intricacies and tolerances of a turbine engine? He does. He knows full well what to do and he measured and spec'd it out before buying bearings. I said "threw bearings in" because its easier to say then "I spec'd and measured the crank within thousandths of a millimeter, then...
Why rod knock? Crankshaft has no fine scratches period. I took my fingernail to each part. I understand a lot about engines, but do not know very much about oils. Also, my buddy has 7 MKIII supras so I know he knows what he is doing when it comes to the rebuild and right way to do things....did...
Well i didnt change the pistons, i dont even think they came out. The new crankshaft was put in 3000 miles ago along with new rod bearings. My buddy said i should put new main bearings in as well,...having 140,000 on them and all. So i bought new rod and main bearings and had him throw them in...
P.S. My best friend is a Jet mechanic, so he only charged me $300 for installation! Im just worried because i dont want to have to have him do it again in a couple thousand miles.
So what happens when I use synthetic to break in bearings? Am i screwed? Should I just leave it be? Are these bearings gonna go out in a couple thousand miles?
I just had the bottom end rebuilt in my 89 turbo. ACL bearings and a new crankshaft. I am running 15w50 mobil one full synthetic. He said that its not the best break in oil, but it shouldnt be a problem. True? Should i change my oil? I have 100miles on the bearings now. Thanks in advance.
Thanks that helped a lot guys! So basically bigger = more HP but more lag as well?
Also my turbo is .55 as i said, 57 trim, and the guy said it can support 550hp in my car. True? If so is it going to be laggy? Installing it on friday-saturday.
I believe that they are actually +38 offset really instead of 48. A guy (i think its same guy) listed the same rims with the same pics with the same exact specs as the ones i bought exept he listed +38 instead of +48. if somehow it is really +38 (dont think they are but...) can i use wheel spacers?
I just paypalled a guy for a pair of rims off ebay. Supra 87+ is listed as vehicles that they will fit. However the offset is listed as +48? Is that going to work...someone on here said that the offset is +45?

Is the Koyo aluminum radiator necessary for 400-500hp? I have a Koyo regular OEM style and high pressure radiator cap now, but i just spent $3800 in performance upgrades for my car and wondering if the aluminum is necessary.
