So what you actually have is a misfire? Is there oil in the head where the spark plugs are? How old are your plug wires, plugs, and cap? Are you sure you don't have any wires crossed?
Might also check the rack and pinion bushings. Could also be a twisted belt in one of the tires. If you feel a lump in the treads, that would be the issue.
Possible torque converter or pump issue, starter bendix hanging up, last main bearing, slightly loose flexplate or torque converter bolts...
Does it leak trans fluid at the bell housing?
Sure enough, it tested at 4.75v with the throttle opened. CRE tested his as well for me(thanks again), and his was 3.48v(a little low?). Strange the book(All Data as well) says it should test 10v - 14v, but vc should only be 4 - 6. I was gonna get a new sensor to test, but no one had it in...
Might check the recommended service interval on which ever belt you get. 99% of the timing belt jobs that come in my shop are driven until they snap or the teeth shear off. Some with very drastic effects...
Also, make sure there aren't any oil leaks in the covers, as that will dramatically...
Possible. There's also three plugs in there that can leak oil. Iirc, it's the three higher ones. Can't remember if its the same ones the hold down the center cover, but I think so.
Check the NHRA rule book. They make all the safety guidelines for race tracks. Sure would suck to buy an adjustable seat and a fixed one is mandatory for your time. Might check the rulings for cages as well. You have to have specifically built cages for the time you run as well. Faster you...
I'v had the OBX for 2+ years now, no problems. Like I said, it needs to be modified a bit. Once its done, you'll never have to buy another one...
There's a few things you'll need to do before you install it. O2 bung is wrong in every way. Cap it, cut it off and weld it closed, whatever...
Idle switch tells the computer the throttle is closed(basically).
You can test the tps with a volt meter.
E2 .025v closed, .025v open(ground)
IDL .029v closed, 4.75v open
VTA .536v closed, 3.5v open
VC 5.01v closed, 5.01v open
The desciption of which pins are what in the tps is in the tsrm.
Check the IAC(in the EFI section of the tsrm, iirc). It's pretty easy to take apart and clean. Could also be the dashpot is restricted, and not catching the throttle correctly.
Might also run a fuel pressure test, both at idle and driving.
Do you hear any hissing around the injectors or...
lol. Sometimes the MSD wires fit a bit loose at the coils/dist., so be sure you're getting a good contact at the coils. I had to open the contacts up a bit on my n/a to make them fit the dist. right.
