The Build of p5150 - 2JZGE-T, GT4294, Paint, and more stuff

** NEW PICS ON PAGE 11*** Well, after waiting awhile I decided to post up what is going on with the build. I decided to ditch the 7M because it is no longer cost effective. Most of the stuff has been acquired but some is still left to purchase. Going in my 88 MKIII is: Engine Stock shortblock...

    2JZ swap *BUILD THREAD*

Sorry bro - 2J>7m You have to invest a lot of money in a 7M to make it as capable as a stock 2JZ. My guess is that youve never taken both the motors apart and looked at them.

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

Toyota usually has the option of purchasing a "repair" connector. It comes pre-pinned with wires so you just have to solder or crimp them together.

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

If you have the 2jz TSRM you can look up every connector and order the appropriate one by part number. You can download the TSRM - just look around for it.

    I just ordered my GT4294 w/1.01 A/R today

Im expecting positive manifold pressure by 4k. This 2j will wrap to 7500. When I say "I hope it fits" I say that because of the position of the exhaust flange on the manifold. I hope I have enough room because I dont want to clock it. I already have the manifold coated.

2JZGE Manifold Going for 140 to your door

My manifold looks very similar to this one. The 50mm wastegate i have installed barely rubs against the motor mount with its cooling fins. Additionally, the flange is clocked so that the outlet of the wastegate has to either face the motor or face the block. There is about 3" of space with my...

    Military

You guys should not discuss international incidents and operational information (deployments, etc) and affiliate yourself as a member of the armed forces. As a private citizen, yes. While specifically identifying yourself as a member of the armed forces, no. This really isnt any...

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

Well just to get up and running you dont need the CPS, coils, igniter and you most definately dont need the tt harness. I wouldnt do a swap and put in a 2jzge ECU. I would rather try to use a 7mgte ECU with a MAFT

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

I dont really see the extra costs; most people go big single with the gte anyways... I knew out the gate that I would be using aftermarket ignition with a custom FFI and standalone - I wouldnt have been able to afford the CDI and ECU if I didnt purchase a GE instead of a GTE. Yes, I had to...

point being that it would be cheaper than an AEM. You could run it off 7M electronics too.....

    2j status update

the wiring between the two isnt too bad - you just need to be able to read a wire diagram. Plan on spending a few days to a week with wiring if you havent done it before. You have to find all of the wires.... Perhaps mine was a bit harder to locate because I dont have the 7m engine harness...

Why I ditched my 7MGTE and went 2JZ NAT with AEM

I disassembled the block, measured it out and had the deck resurfaced. All the hardware is reusable so no worries.
