yea i coulda sworn ii had an 89 throttle body on my old 87 and it ran fine. Also it seems that the only way the 87 throttle body would have helped me if my car seemed like it was dying and i open toe screw to raise the idle so it can idle better. My issues is that its idling way to high, air is...
ok the throttle body makes sense, before a jdm 89 throttle body was on which still did not have an idle speed screw.
This is a jdm motor so there is no egr equipment or charcoal canister.
let me know if you find that 87 throttle body. i have a bare one with no linkage or tps that i may...
so its getting measured air so back to the iscv? I mean i changed the idle speed valve be4 as stated in post 1 and the idle was at 1200 but then rose back to wat it is now randomly? so both are bad? again there is no change when i unplug the afm. This is just wierd.
throttle body is fully closed. iirc if it was open and the afm unplugged it would bog down, I know on other supras i worked on if the afm is unplugged it idles around 1000 and runs rich as hell, and give it any gas it would bog down. this didnt do that . U can hear it when i unplug and plug the...
thanks bro i appreciate your response and ur help so far.
Like i said guys i have all day 2moro to work on her, I just don't know where to start and do not wanna dish out money replacing parts to just cancel it out. Pockets are close to being empty right now as with any supra owner.
Ive done so many 7m non turbo to turbo swaps and this by far has had the most issues that I've ever came across
Here is the current issues:
Sometimes the car is hard to start (10+ seconds of cranking), sometimes its not
As soon as the car is started, cold start or when its warm, It jumps up...
doing so in the car u have to drop the whole front sub frame. Its much easier to just pull the motor back out man. It takes less than an hr to do and ull have alot more room to work with with the motor out of the car.
ok decided to pull the motor back out to change the headgasket since i wanted to change the oil pressure sender too and now i can pull the motor and tranny out in like 20 mins lol.
fresh new stock headgasket with 3-4 coats of copperspray on it
arp bolts with arp moly lube trq down to 80ft lbs...
ok it started raining today will check everything posted out 2moro and give a follow up.
I don't like to leave things unanswered just in case somebody else in the future has the same problem and can read up on this thread. I still dont understand why they didn't post code 11 on the engine...
sounds about rite, so that means what? its an issue with my wireharness?
what are the symptons with code 11 and how come code 11 is not in the tsrm?
i was gonna say code 11 too but like i said how come its not in the tsrm?
and this also makes me curious to how many other codes arent in...
lol from what it says in the tsrm that the 1rst number of blinks is the 1rst digit then 1 1/2 second pause then the second number is the second digit then a 5 second pause correct?
well its doing one flash then then .5 second then second flash then 5 second pause and repeats
so...
Ok heres are all the symptons related to my problem.
1 it takes 2 or 3 tries of 10-15 second cranking to get the car started .
2 once after its started and shut off, it starts right back up.
3 As soon as the car starts it jumps to 2500-3000 rpm and fluctuates when you give it gas it...
yea man he started it all, has the quickest supra on the east coast. he has a shop out in longisland now, man that guy is mad cool, we was talking shyt all day tryna lock up some races with some other guys, he brought out a blue turbo 350z.
what a great event, had alot of fun, thanks to tsa dyno and nyce1's for allowing this too happen, saw some crazy supras make some crazy numbers.
Just wish my car was there smh
