Sorry to bump an old post, been searching for info on the ebay WG as mine is leaking at idle right now and saw this. Can you clarify? I can't run a dump tube with the ebay WG because of the orientation of the flange, I didn't follow what you were saying about using the Greddy. Thanks!
We ran a new ground from the ignitor when we did all the wiring. All of the couplers look good, only other potential leak point is the BOV so recirc'ing it may help since I'd at least not be losing metered air...
Yup stock TCCS. I cut down the stock coilpack bracket and bolted it to the firewall, guess I could run a ground wire to it too. Keep the ideas comin :)
I've got the FP on the Aeromotive set at 30psi w/the vac line on (jumps to about 40 with it off), everything else fuel-wise is stock but I was thinking that maybe the fouled plugs could be not burning all the fuel off...
North America Railroad Publishing Service? :biglaugh:
Also remembered that the car was backfiring a little on the way home, especially off throttle. Could partially be from my BOV that I haven't bothered to recirc. yet, might be running rich too
Coil packs are uncracked, I was fortunate enough to find a set at a JY to replace the cracked ones that were on the car.
I'm running the NGK BKR7E plugs from Driftmotion, got another set too in case they're fouled. Keep the ideas comin' and I'll keep you guys posted.
Got the exhaust all welded up today, decided to just take it somewhere instead of fighting with my HF Fluxcore all weekend. Little more than I wanted to pay but it's done...
Still no headway on the ignition breakup, runs great when it's cool but still breaks up in boost when the car is warm...
Little late to the party too, but awesome work!!
I'll will be in touch when I return to SW Virginia, I went to VT and didn't realize there was anywhere to dyno nearby...
Wanted to update you, the Mustang wires are too long if you're running the stock intake manifold, #s 3-4 get pinched under the TB. Jon and I ended up pushing the clip a little farther through the boot on the stock 7M wires and they worked fine.
I can't remember whether I went .032 or .028, but I didn't think it would matter with low boost (5psi). \
Jon and I messed with some stuff tonight and went for a ride, it was boosting well at first and then after about 5mins started breaking up again. Stopped at Autozone for about 5mins and...
Well, looks like I'm in bug workout mode. Car was running good on the way to work but on the way home it would break up under boost pretty bad. Going to check the timing, any other ideas?
None right now, just a line from the compressor outlet to the port on the side of the WG. Was planning on using the stock WG pressure (11psi) and hook up my BC later on.
Took a little bit of a long lunch today and ended up driving the car back to work :) Throttle cable is still dragging at the firewall, have to mess with that later.
Car feels AMAZING and it's only hitting 5psi right now. Boost doesn't come on until ~4k rpms so I think the wastegate is...
Haha, guess so. Was going to try and drive it to work tomorrow but the throttle cable started sticking (looks like it's pulling at an angle at the firewall) and I didn't feel like mucking with it. Probably shouldn't drive too much with the open DP anyways :biglaugh:
ReadTFM and also noticed...
Yay! Looks like I get the mobes RTFM award for the week:
Left Coil 1-6
Middle Coil 3-4
Right Coil 2-5
Duuuurrrrr, car runs great now LOL. If I could just figure out how to get the ECU bolted in...
and I'm lovin' it now :icon_bigg I said it in your build thread and I'll say it here Scott, AWESOME!! I showed the dynosheet to some guys at work and now the expectations are set even higher for me :3d_frown:
Jon came over tonight and we did some more tinkering, car is running 500% better. The Mustang wires were too tall and kind of got squashed under the TB so we pulled the damn plenum off and Jon modded the 7M wires to make 'em fit. Got the timing and FP set too.
Not too much more to do...
