it apperas as though the timing belt is brand new and i threw in some ngk 6097's today. the vacuum lines need replaced.

wellll....i'm not too sure what the difference is with a 2JZ from an Aristo. it only has 280hp...is it in the ecu that makes it have less power than the 320hp supra or is it in the twins. maybe the boost is set lower? i don't know...i need to find out though

see, that's another thing. the 2JZ has a shorter stroke. means higher rev limit. someday i'd like to rev it to 8.5k or higher. i wouldn't imagine trying that in a 7M. but then again that's also why the 7M has more torque.

well don't get me wrong now. i still believe the 7M is a great motor, but you just can't deny newer technology. i for one don't want to be changing the head gasket on my 7M every year.

well... i just ordered a 2JZ-GTE with the engine harness and ecu and i bought the motor mounts from BIC and 1JZ flywheel and stage 4 7M/1JZ clutch kit form 935 Motorsports... hopefully everything should be here with 2 weeks....post pics then...now all i needs is a 1JZ bellhousing..time to go to...

there are a lot of 2JZ's what come with ecu and engine harness only thing is that they're all auto....can i still use the harness and just get an aftermarket ecu?
thanks, a guy on SF said i should get a 7M clutch cause it bolts to the 1JZ flywheel. so i'm guessing i need a 1JZ flywheel and 7M clutch kit then i'm all set?
i've been readin tons of archived threads bout 2jz swaps and i haven't been able to find out which clutch i should get when swapping in a 2JZ-GTE and using the 7M-GTE R154 transmission. i know i need the 1jz bellhousing so do i get a 7M clutch or a 2JZ clutch along with the 2JZ flywheel????
