when i posted this question about a week ago, i was told that on the stock valvetrain, float would occur at 7K according to the guys that were responding.
i dont believe you can, due to all the mounting points for the rack being on the wrong side, but i might be wrong. easiest to do would be to get the BIC mounts for whatever year you have
theres a dyno graph on the site somewhere, forgot the numbers, but andrew (AF1JZ) might be able to take some vids before and after swapping his out, i did a set for him a month or so ago
being that im now gonna be machining the 5th set of 2JZ cams, just wanted to put this out to you guys out there. if you dont wanna go through trying to find a shop to machine them, i can get them done for you for a pretty good price.
$100 to get them machined, and shipped back to you
$130 for...
nice, i cant wait to have mine done, but i gave the head to my friend at a shop to put in my springs and shim the cams
you have a before the cams dyno? to get a before and after?
awesome, im bout to toss some 268/276 crowers in my 1J, i was just hoping for some chop in the idle. theyre not as big as yours @ 50, but i hope it sounds like yours does
you have to have the oil seal parts machined down to fit the 1JZ oil seals, and the first journal on the exhaust cam has to be widened to fit in the 1JZ head. if you have a set of stock 2J cams i can get em machined for about $90 bucks or so. that covers machining costs, gas, and return shipping
