Why are you wanting to use 1J pistons again? Just use the stock 2J-GE pistons. All you need is a 2.5mm HG for higher boost applications. The HG is cheaper than a full set of pistons, which aren't needed unless the ones you have are damaged. Stock internal 2J-GE's go past 700whp before...

1J stock springs can go to like, 8,0000+rpm and not float using aftermarket cams. ZaZZn, when he tested the cams revved it high. The head is fine. The 2J bottom ends I've seen stock pushed to 8,000 with no immediate issues. It all depends on the power band, and how much power you're making...

Yes it will work. That's exactly what I did. I swapped the 1J and 2J-GE pumps, pickups, with the pans. No issues. Changed it from Front sump to mid/rear.

$630 shipped for my 2JZ-GE with harness and ECU. You can buy a turbo kit for it, complete for around $1300 and make 400whp with just a piggy back. A lot better than a GTE price per HP, use the rest of the money on injectors, JZ bellhousing, clutch, etc.
