    Eliminating Oil Cooler for Good?

A lot of the 2JZ-GE guys who go turbo don't use a oil cooler. No problems to speak of.

Try it with a 1J Ric, then tell me if it worked how you wanted it to. Nissan did it right making their valve timing for Turbo cars, see if you can apply the same to Toyota JZ with VVT-i. Toyota pussed out in the HP department with their VVT-i cam profiles (even on the 1J-GTE). Ric, who told...

    1JZ VVTI conversion

Do it Ric, then start bragging. No one's brought any evidence of a turbo VVT-i motor showing the substantial gains. Jay's 1JZ makes more power than that RB with the variable cam timing. Hell, there are less expensive 2JZ-GE engines making more power for less money. Price per HP, wow, what a...

    1JZ VVTI conversion

Like I said before, VVT-i is great with the stock turbos and as EE1.3 has posted, great with NA. Try it past 400whp with a larger single, and try to tune it! Let us know how much it costs, then come back and let us know if it's really worth it! "Con's to having VVT-i vs. without- You...

    1JZ VVTI conversion

Maybe good if it came on the car, but installing it afterwards as a "mod"? Not really the best "good" thing to do. I wasn't aware VVT-i was offered on nissan engines, unless nissan has their own cam timing control. If you want to pay for an HKS version of VVT-i, that's awesome, it's just...

    1JZ VVTI conversion

We all want great response down low, and good top end power. I simply do not believe VVT-i can give it to you in stock (valvetrain) form much past 400whp even if the internals are swapped. Consider VVT-i was made for stock twins to further flatten out the torque curve. VVT-i works under full...

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

The ignitor does work right? Stock 7M? If you aren't getting a tach signal to the stock unit, maybe the ignitor isn't getting power. Check it out!

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

Cold start percent increase is set? What size injectors? Using 1J base map? Dwell? Do you read RPM in the software? Don't rely on the stock tach, check it out in the software while cranking. Double check the software settings. Triple check the software settings, lol.

    1JZ VVTI conversion

Installing VVT-i is not worth it, and yes, that's my opinion. It's cost per HP man. It's not an old school mindset, it's about money and being worth while. Superior design? If it were really so superior other than stock, it would be retained in high HP drag cars. You read features of...

    1JZ VVTI conversion

You could waste money like that, but why? So you can have VVT-i? Not worth it. If it were, there would be more VVT-i equipped cars in this world? I think so. It still seems like a poor investiment, unless it's a completely stock ECU powered factory car vs. stock non-vvt-i car.

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

Weird! I would recheck your wiring. Sounds like you have one or two in the wrong areas on your CPS. EDIT: No, you cannot use a 2JZ/1JZ 12 point wheel on the crank position sensor without the cam syncs found on the 1/2JZ-GTE models located on the intake side of the head (unless you...

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

Sorry, but you're going to need a new relay, set for ground switch. not bad at all. You can reuse some of the wires, but I'd recommend replacing the + wire with something larger, and straight to the battery (yeah I'm a huge fan of it). If you go to autozone, O'RLY's, Advanced auto, you can...

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

I used 7M ones. Seem to work okay. Mind, this is on a 2J-GE rail, on a head, in the other car, that isn't running yet, lol. They fit alright though. For the Stinger you can try to use the 1J map. The timing maps are all the same, just playing with fuel. You can even use a 7M map someone...

    2JZ NA-T in my 87T

I had to use a bosch type relay ground activated, not too hard to do, and I know you can do it! I have a 10 guage wire from the battery to the Walbro. My computer has a serial port, I made sure to buy one with a serial, and it's been a good investment. If your shooting for anything barely...

Intercooler looks fine. Keep it up. FWIW, my stinger install is finished, with me starting the car, and I drove it the other day. I just need more tuning. Yay.
