    crank angle sensor ?s

No problem. I forget what the Ohm meter should be set to though. If you said your friend's came out .70 that doesn't match per TSRM but it may be right, just make sure you use the right value on the metering device.

    crank angle sensor ?s

Sensors go bad. If it doesn't test to spec as per the TSRM, replace. 1. REMOVE NO.2 AIR TUBE FOR CAC 2. DISCONNECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CONNECTOR 3. INSPECT CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR RESISTANCE Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals. Resistance: Cold NIPPONDENSO...

    2JZ downpipe on a mk3

yes, it depends on the manifold but it should work. I'm using a 2J-GE downpipe for my 1J setup because most of the downpipes are pretty much very similar anyway.

    1.5JZ-GTE vs. GT500

I have a new clutch now. That night an auto MKIV ran a 12.1@111mph, so I know the mph is there. After I launched on the old clutch it would stay heated and would slip throughout the run. On the street rolling into it the clutch would hold the power fine. I haven't been to the track since. I...

    1.5JZ-GTE vs. GT500

My car ran SOLID high 13's/low 14's over 110mph lol. I have a new clutch now.

    Shimmed oil pump??

You don't need that pump unless you're revving really high all the time. After 8000rpms, it's not a matter of if, but when it will fail. Interestingly enough, I've never heard a 1JZ FMS popping out at 8500rpms daily driving. Makes me wonder if a 1JZ oil pump on a 2J would prevent a pop...

Difference in the size of turbos

    M. Conte over on SF is one of the reasons for the GT37, says he bugged them enough anyway. Others have bugged Garrett for a smaller large frame for years. Still has seven blades vs. six. Garrett can keep making them smaller, they'll still make great power. Same story for 76mm, they flow more...

    1.5JZ-GTE vs. GT500

Does anyone ever go up to a Ford Probe owner and ask what year MK3 Supra it is?

Difference in the size of turbos

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/products/turbochargers.html Large frame turbos start with GT37??? I thought my GT40R was the smallest of the large frames, I guess no more. Larger turbos in general will take longer to spool, but you can make more HP on pump gas with a larger...

    Shimmed oil pump??

A GTE pump with a GE block (or no oil squirters) will result in higher overall pressure also. That pressure isn't bad. I am about 20PSI more than you. Normal. The pressure will probably pop the front main seal out past 8000 for sure! lol

    1.5JZ-GTE vs. GT500

When I first put my car together (Thank you Suprahero, Driftmotion, 10secDream, SupraNBamma) and made sure the tune was solid me and my buddy were headed toward the track to see what kind of times the car would run at 11-14PSI. On the way to the race track on a closed course I pulled up to a...

My Supra vs. built T66 B18 Civic Hatch

I went ahead and bought a single kit anyway until I made up my mind. I had two singles here I wanted to try. Just waiting for me to get bored with the first one. I still have the Sard twin kit here, debating on whether or not to have the turbo's upgraded or sell it or build another motor and...

    1j bottom 2j head

The longer runners on the 2JGE intake should help. That's why I suggested using it. Looks like I need to work on my car on my off time and finish it before the OP! Less displacement means higher revs which is what I want to do with this. I imagine it would behave similar to a 1JZ with a port...

    1j bottom 2j head

You're going to have a great time with that one. Start with a 2JGTE head on a 1J block, and you should be in business. Use a 2JGE, and you're asking for problems that require custom attention. Not a bad idea. Mine's still in the car (MKII Supra), Haltech EK6, 880cc's, A1000, Tru-trac dif...
