So my transmission just went out. we pulled the tranny out and were going to put another tranny in when we saw that my 6 Puck south bend clutch was completely warn down on the pressure plate side.. the other side that is touches the fly wheel looked just fine.. Any idea what would cause one...
Ok i have a recording of the whinning noise.. took the video from my phone so its not the best quality. but here you go.. Im in 4th gear and i down shift to 3rd gear, thats when you can hear the whinning noise.
ok. so if grinding the gear caused the noise then why would changing the fluid do anything for it? sorry if some of these question are stupid, never had tranny problems so i'v never really learned much about them..lol
stupid question but how do you check the fluid for the tranny? never had to do it.. Also i might add that previous to this happening i did happen to grind 3rd gear pretty bad.. but the noise didn't happen immediatly after that happened. it didn't start doing it till i drove the car again.
So today i was driving my car and all was fine untill i parked it and came back to drive it a while later. As soon as i shifted into 3rd gear i heard a whinning noise. To me it sounds very much like its coming from the tranny. It still drives like normal in 3rd gear, just makes a wierd noise...
wow that looks nice and shiney.. haha.. but ya if you could get a picture of it with better lighting that would be great.. i just want to see what im going to be faced with before i start my turbo swap. thanks!
