from personal experiences i would highly recommend getting a Boss series turbo. i had a smaller boss on my supra, it was just the .57 trim. I then decided to go with a T70 thinking since its bigger i would make more power. I tell you right now i wish that boss turbo was still on my car. It...
it was deffinitly the turbo that went bad. i took it apart and the rear seal was toast and leaking oil bad. The smoking that is happening now is very seldom and very little smoke. The ct i put on needs rebuilt as well so thats why. getting a T70 this next week!!
we got the stock ct on there.. no smoke!!! yay.. but then once i got all the way back home i parked the car, let it sit running for a min and smoke started to come out agian but not near as much.. so this ct is also on its way out. i need to start saving for a new turbo. uggh
SO we found the turbo to be the smoking problem.. i got a stock ct turbo and took mine off. i found the white residue on the manifold and down pipe. i put the stock ct on and the car stopped smoking. However, i think this stock ct is also on its way out. after i got home from the meet i noticed...
lol.. well my car has been smoking really bad.. might be my valve stem seals.. so i was thinking maybe easier to just get a new head?? I dont know im just thinking about what i should do. I need to do a compression test first to rule out the piston rings.
haha.. i like how you said "Not bad for a stock supra" Im sure they were thinking WTF!?!? afterwards..lol... oh by the way i love your wheels :) im actualy thinking about getting the same ones for my supra.
You guys keep calling it reduntant yet im the one who stopped posting for a while..lol. I know the work as to start the guessing has to stop. Im getting ready to head home, so i should get a compression test done this evening or tomorow morning. Most likely tomorow morning when the engine is...
Ok, went out to the car, looked in my catch can and theres no fresh oil in there its empty. checked hoses going to and from the catch can and theres just a slight amount of oil lining the hoses. As for the smoking.. today i started the car and very little smoke came out on start up.. most of...
Im using a catch can, one vac line to the turbo intake, and the other goes to the ports on the valve covers and port on the throttle body. .. how bad does your car smoke when you had this problem? and did it smoke alot on start up and under boost?
so does the head have to come completely off? i thought maybe you would just remove the valve covers, cams, and all that... Well today was the last day of finals so i'll be moving back home for the summer. As soon as i get back and get settled in im going to do a compression test and see what...
haha.. seems like the notion is on the valve stem seals. I think i forgot to mention this but the problem started out with just alittle smoke about a week ago, its been getting worse every time i start the car up. My question now is, what makes you guys think its not the turbo or rings? would...
