How well can your taillights and brake lights be seen through the tint? I know a lot of the cars I see here are so dark that you can't even tell when they are braking.
From what I was reading it sounds like the gas here in the US has been brought up to higher standards like toyMKIII said, so I don't think it would be a problem. I also see that you are in Sweden though so I don't know how the gas there compares.
Apparently it is the early V8's that have the not so ideal cylinder wall linings, but American gas has been reformulated since then. I'm sure they are similar to our cars. If they have been treated well and maintained they will probably serve you well, but if they have been beat on and not...
This is basically what I did. I had my tint place put 50% on the windshield. Its hard to tell it's even there, doesn't affect visibility, and with the ceramic tint it blocks all the UV rays and keeps a significant amount of heat out as well.
I had to pull my almost brand new stereo out of the Supra to send it to Kenwood for warranty repair today. I packed it in the box I received it in from Amazon, and went to ship it at the UPS store. I wanted to insure it, but the lady wouldn't let me unless I let her open my box and have her pack...

Thanks! That's a good method, I will definitely do it that way if I do replace it. Now I just need to buy the headlight cover and hope that it matches. I really hope it does...
This is a good list. I would do exactly this. If the bottom end looks good and you do everything he has listed here you should have a nice worry free motor for a long time.
Yeah, you will definitely have a story to tell with that one. It's a shame to see the paint is such bad shape, but it doesn't look like anything that can't be fixed. I would do just like suprarx7nut said. Paint it, get a matching set of wheels, sort out any engine problems it has and just enjoy...
Hey guys,
I am looking at buying a headlight cover off a guy on ebay because my original one has some paint damage to it. It is the same color as my Supra and he says the paint is in good shape so it may be worth the risk of seeing how well it will actually match before paying someone to try...
