How well can your taillights and brake lights be seen through the tint? I know a lot of the cars I see here are so dark that you can't even tell when they are braking.

From what I was reading it sounds like the gas here in the US has been brought up to higher standards like toyMKIII said, so I don't think it would be a problem. I also see that you are in Sweden though so I don't know how the gas there compares.

Apparently it is the early V8's that have the not so ideal cylinder wall linings, but American gas has been reformulated since then. I'm sure they are similar to our cars. If they have been treated well and maintained they will probably serve you well, but if they have been beat on and not...

Yeah, I've heard they aren't too reliable, but they are so good looking. I wish you could still get cars with pop-up headlights. I really like them.

Its an 87 Supra, the paint code is 920.

This is basically what I did. I had my tint place put 50% on the windshield. Its hard to tell it's even there, doesn't affect visibility, and with the ceramic tint it blocks all the UV rays and keeps a significant amount of heat out as well.

Well the seller says the cover came off an 88 so it would be the same silver as my car, and he also says it has not been repainted. I am having doubts about the second part. There is a strange line on the paint, where it looks like new paint and there are not rock chips or anything either which...

Yeah, you will definitely have a story to tell with that one. It's a shame to see the paint is such bad shape, but it doesn't look like anything that can't be fixed. I would do just like suprarx7nut said. Paint it, get a matching set of wheels, sort out any engine problems it has and just enjoy...

That's exactly what my car is. I love it. Unless the whole car is somehow trashed with less than 20k miles I would leave it in the original condition.
