I can tell you one thing, the usdm 2j harness will definitely not work with the ma70 dash connectors for the gauges etc.
Also, I am under the impression that JDM 1j and 2j harnesses are similar on the engine side, but the USDM one is alot different. If this is true you may have to swap alot...
Heck it's worth over 3k in 1j parts probably...
The body doesn't look too great, but it also doesn't really have any serious issues.
I think 4k would be a reasonable middle ground.
I'm pretty sure the free motor influnced your (in)decision mike.
Anyhow, I got a car with an empty engine bay. I bought a 1j. Why? I've had 7m's, 4 of them to be exact. I wanted to try something new. Also, it could be a stepping stone. With the 1j parts the 2j is pretty much plug and play...
The exhaust had a MK4 tanabe muffler and the rest was 4" custom piping. It might actually be still for sale, I kinda wish I had picked it up, but I didn't want my car to be identical looking to the way genna had it.
element eighty - broken promises
It was in nsf underground.
CFX made it, 1 in 6 or so ever made. That particular one was damaged. There are a few more of the regular carbon fiber hood(non raised-cowl) floating around that you can probably buy though.
You're only allowed to retract your bid within the last 12 hours of the listing if you placed it within an hour or retracting...so that means that presumably you were winning the car within 12 hours of the auction end, and you bought the other car within an hour of him bidding...
I'm only...
You can get an adapter harness from driftmotion as mattjk said. Basically you send them part of your 7m engine harness and part of the dash harness from the 1jz clip and they wire it up for you so it's plug and play. Costs about $100 plus shipping IIRC. As far as extending the harness, you don't...
Putting the egr on the manifold isn't bad, if you need to put the cooler on the head it's hard as hell. I had to buy a special set of low profile wrenches to do it.
I did some research on them a little while ago, and the general consensus is it's not worth it for their lower prices.
You will get the clip, eventually...it will take months and you will have to pay all kinds of port fees etc because they ship it from outside the US.
Places it could leak from to get into the upper hatch plastic:
lower hatch seal, the mounting holes for the lower hatch trim, rear wiper seal, spoiler seals
Clear RTV sealant is what I used to fix up some of these spots.
It's been a while since I had an a340 apart, but i'm pretty sure you can replace the #1 and #2 solenoids just by pulling the pan, no need to pull the valve body or anything else.
Actually, considering e85's high octane (105 i think) and its properties, it's particularly well suited to a turbocharged engine. You may find that in a supra it is pretty efficient. Of course since it packs less energy per gallon than gas you'll always use more e85, but the efficiency increase...
I learned from having supras how to work on cars. The knowledge from them then helped me work on other toyotas, and alot of the general concepts allow me to do some work on almost any car.
I will probably always be the most comfortable with supras because of this, it's nice to drive a car and...
We try to raise it. No FC means when the engine starts to run really lean because it needs more fuel than the system can provide, there is no failsafe to stop from detonation.
