I dunno what the law is in cali, but in CT you have to have the title 'rebuilt' before the car can be registered. That involves proving repairs were done and taking the car to an inspection station.
I think when turboguy was saying check for matching vins he meant on the body panels. If the...
You don't have to replace any harnesses. You can even use the stock auto ecu. You have to do some rewiring though, for the backup lights etc. Do a search and you'll probably get some exact info on it.
The auto cars even have the holes already marked for the master cylindar.
I have JDM tails, not really worth it IMO. They are darker than USDM ones, but not by a whole lot, in pictures you can't even really tell. If you want dark tail lights you might as well tint them. I will probably end up making mine darker.
Well, I'm not sure offhand if they are the same length. Assuming they are, then it is quite possible you could use it, you can put a pre 89 ecu and harness in an 89, so I don't see why you can't put a 89+ ecu and harness in an 87. The only thing you can't do is use an older ecu with a newer...
One reason many people get rod knock after a BHG is they have the type of BHG where coolant gets in the oil. Coolant makes for crummy lubricant and actually can make the oil acidic. This then eats away at the bearings and if you repair your BHG without new bearings then you can easily end up...
You don't have to mess with the motor to get the transmission out. Just loosen the motor mounts, this will allow you to angle the motor back with the transmission on it and reach those top bolts with alot of extensions and a universal joint on your wrench.
Also, if you're going to be messing...

I need to get an 86.5 and a 92 mk3 so I can say i've owned one of every year.
A couple of shots I took:
Like the other guys, I had hoped for a better turnout, but there were alot of really nice supras there, and that 7m truck was awesome.
I think sometimes it's the ignition switch itself that's worn down, sometimes the key sometimes both. I've only had 1 supra out of 4 where the key didn't come out when it shouldn't.
On a side note, my friend recently got an 88 toyota pickup and I saw his key looked similar to my supra's, so I...
For the sake of argument, and because i'd really like to know; how do you get the air out of the circled area?
The radiator neck is so much lower and bubbles don't exactly float down. I can get some out by squeezing the hose, but it seems pretty hopeless.
I have to say that the I have a CSF dual core and it definitely cools very well but i'm frustrated with it's design. The upper hose connection comes in at a higher point than the radiator neck. This causes air to get hopelessly trapped in the upper radiator hose. If you really want to get all...
