All of those symptoms could be attributed to different things. I would check a few easier things before pulling the head.
For one, hows your ECU? Has it been recapped? If it's running lean you could end up running hot, misfires, popping on decel, etc.
The white smoke could be due to lean...

There are also several importers in New York and Jersey if you don't feel like paying for shipping.
Also if you need help or info on the swap, I've worked on quite a few 1jz into mk3 swaps.
I've had 4 7m Supras and 2 1jz ones. I spent $3k on my last 7m car in the engine bay alone, and it was bpu when I was done. Despite nearly everything being rebuilt or replaced, it still had odd problems from time to time that were just annoying.
In contrast, I spent $3k putting a 1jz in my...
Make sure you don't have the map sensor vac line running to the port that only sees vac when the throttle is open. (Next to the diag box on the intake)
You're right about the cam sensors.
As for the crank sensor, it plugs into the bottom of the motor just above the oil pan and in the alternator area. It might be behind the timing tensioner as you describe, but it's the only sensor which plugs into the block near the alt.
I would check the...
Check the IAT sensor screwed into the side of the intake manifold, and the wiring to it. It shares a common ground with a few other sensors (like the map), so one sensor going bad can mess up the others. Try unplugging it, if it's shorted the car may actually run better.
To be more clear: the parts of the ma70 system that you need to connect to the 1jz harness are similar to their 1jz counterparts. The only thing you ditch on the engine harness is the compressor speed sensor.
When I interchanged a section of my fusebox wiring with that from the jza70 body...

I wish there was a full TEWD out there, but the best diagrams I know of are from Rick's old site.
The 1jz AC wiring is very similar to the 7m, and most of it is body side. So getting the AC running on a...
The entire harness does not have to be extended, there are other options that work. For example, in several swaps i've done, only the body harness connectors have been extended, the ECU plugs do not (which saves you the bulk of the work). There is a catch to this though, you have to drill a new...
Yeah it's the wire which activates the AC compressor clutch when the relay is activated. It's pin 3 on the relay plug.
The plug isn't on the fuse box, it usually hangs down below it behind the battery, in that area. It's a single pin gray plug with a blue wire. Don't have a pic, sorry.
The only wire you need for the AC in EA2 is the clutch wire. (Pin 9) The rest aren't used by the MA70 body. The clutch wire is connected to the single pin plug which is in the fuse box area that used to connect to the 7m compressor.
In the pic you have there the brown plug is for the hydrofan, and the big gray one is EA2. I can dig up the wires that are on that plug if you still need them.
No, but you can buy/build an adapter harness, and you'll have to run 3 additional wires for the sequential injection system of the aristo, and you'll have a reduced rev limit.
I would recommend repairing the ECU first. I fixed mine 2 years ago and it's been fine since then.
I'm assuming from your sig you have an 89+ car. Yes you need the speed sensor from the original trans, and yes it has to be swapped to the 1jz transmission. The speed sensor has 3 wires, which go to the ABS ecu via the B3 connector in the glovebox. The yellow wire goes to pin 5 on B3, the black...
