1jz starter question and cranks but wont start.

That's the correct spot for the ground. I assume if you were able to check for codes the check engine light works. (Meaning the ECU is powering on). Do you know if you have spark? The best way to check if the injectors are working is with a node light. They pulse too fast for most multimeters...

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

Unfortunately that combo doesn't work, I've tried. The diameter of the center piece of the 7m fan is smaller than the 2jz one, so it won't fit over the clutch to bolt up.

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

Its possible I had a bad LS400 clutch when I ran one, it does fit well, but mine ran full speed all the time. The 2jz-gte setup works well too. (Which is identical to the 1jz-gte fan clutch setup on soarers) If you shimmed the GE fan blade off the clutch by even the slightest amount, it would...

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

I'm not sure how they implemented it, I haven't looked at the setup closely. However, if you look at the blades on the ls400 fan, they are angled the opposite direction from the JZ blades. Perhaps they move air in opposite directions.

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

The GE clutch fan will work, but the clearance is very tight. A friend of mine is running one and if his radiator hose flexes the wrong way the fan hits it. As I understand it, the clutch itself is the same, but the GTE fan blade is thinner and should fit better. The problem with the LS400...

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

Looks good, that's a clean engine! If you still need a throttle cable that fits one from a 92-96 camry or corolla works well. (Didn't see one in the pics) Btw: It's JonoTurbo, my name is Jon haha

Freshly rebuilt 1JZ won't stay running.

Yeah I was just taking a guess on the map sensor thing, but yeah you definitely have them in the right places. EDIT: Just for the hell of it, try unplugging the o2 sensor. It seems like it could cause trouble the way you have it hooked up there.

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

The smaller of the two hose connections from the power steering reservoir goes to the return line connection on the power steering rack. The bigger line goes to the power steering pump, there should be another fitting on it above where the pressure line fitting. The power steering lines are all...

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

The high pressure line comes off of the power steering pump itself, and goes to the steering rack. It has banjo bolt fittings on each end. The pressure line is the same for either maxima engine. The fittings you show attached to the passenger frame rail are for the power steering cooler. You...

Freshly rebuilt 1JZ won't stay running.

The engine map sensor is the one with part number 89420-24040. It is mounted on a small black bracket generally. The sensor for the boost gauge won't read vacuum, so if you have that plugged in as the engine map sensor, that may explain why the car wont run. Also, if you haven't opened up the...

    corolla 7mgte

You will need a custom adapter plate to bolt the getrag to the 7m, as far as I know, none exist. The w58 will hold maybe 400hp tops, if you drive really easy on it. You should be able to put 700hp through a rebuilt r154 with marlin crawler parts, I recommend going with that if you really want to...

Freshly rebuilt 1JZ won't stay running.

Are you throwing any codes? Also, there is only one map sensor, but there is a pressure sensor for the boost gauge which looks like a map sensor.

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

Yeah, I don't know what that plug is, where do the wires go for it? Definitely cap off that line, almost all the 1jz vac fittings are on the intake so just cap anything left over after you hook everything up. Also, make sure you have the map sensor connected to the filtered vac connection on...

    2jz p/s pump on 1jz!?

The 1jz, 2jz-gte, and 2jz-ge power steering pumps are all interchangeable. The pulley on your pump should be 6 rib, as all of these engines use 6 rib belts.

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

The vac lines go to a valve that should be bolted to the pressure line output of the power steering pump. Its a black cap screwed into the side of the fitting with two vac connections on it. Yeah, the 7m filter will work on the 1jz. The cleaner control relay? I think that might be for the...

What in the #$%^$@ do these do????

In the first pic, the two black plugs are for the auxiliary AC fans, which you probably dont need. The single pin one is the AC compressor clutch switch, and if you want it to work it gets wired to the matching wire on EA2. I can't tell what the fourth plug is, maybe for a relay. Second pic is...

List of parts needed to swap 1jzgte into mk3

The 94 Nissan Maxima power steering pressure line is a better fit than the mk4 one, and the Maxima one works with the stock banjo fitting (it also comes with new crush washers). I've had 1jz ABS sensors work fine with the stock US ABS system, but that may be limited to swaps where the engine...

    New England caravan to Englishtown

This thread is to plan a caravan down to the Englishtown meet on October 16th. This is a route from CT on down, for anyone that would like to meet up with us. We will be meeting at the park and ride off Spencer St in Manchester, we will try to leave there by 8am. Location on Google Maps...

    what flywheel on my supra?

You have a 1jz flywheel. The 7m one has the wrong bolt pattern for the crank, and the 2jz ones have the wrong bolt pattern for the pressure plate, among other things.

    1JZ wont rev past 2k

In this particular case, the gauge cluster connector(M1) was wired incorrectly causing a signal to feed back to the ECU and make the car cut out.
