OK so I found the volt meter but the green wire has a constant 4.5v coming out of it wether the throttle is closed or open. I am not getting more than .8 v out of any of the other ones. I even changed tps's to be sure one wasnt bad. Any ideas?
I am leaning toward the TPS and I can pull the one of of my 88 and try it but would a bad TPS still allow me to rev to redline while out of gear under no load? If so this sounds like the problem because I can rev it fine while out of gear.
If I accellerate to 3000Rpm+ the car simply dies. This is only under load, I can however rev it ro redline at a standstill. Timing is dead on, my brother thinks it could be the distributor. Any ideas? The exhaust definitely is not clogged as I have pulled it. I dont see how clogged injectors...
First thing I would do is pull plugs #5 and #6 and look for oil in the galley , blow it out with a compressor , clean the plugs and see what happens. then tighten your valve covers down.
Does anyone here actually have headers on there 7MGE? i mean, the stock manifolds look pretty capable but I was just wondering if dropping $200 would be worth it and when i say worth it I mean 10+ HP
Pulled the cluster today and drove the car. i could tell that the speedo cable was not moving. I was going to replace it but cant I just buy a $100 gtech and that will tell me constant MPH? Anyone know if any of these performance meters can tell constant speed?
I got the 86.5 up and running good but every now and then it chokes when I floor it. Seems to do it mainly in the lower gears. i dont know if its choking or of its not getting enough fuel revving doesnt affect it just when driving.
The seats in this new supra I picked up are shot. i was wondering if there are any other seats that directly bolt in. Camry, corolla, celica? the seats arent powered it just might be a problem finding some good supra seats at a decent price.
Its a VSV connector that hooks to the vacuum port of the secondary port on the intake plenum. I was just thinking about hooking hte actual secondary vacuum port to the intake manifold so it will open all the time.
Check the Cat. i swear, I beat my damn head against the wall fo rthe past week trying to figure it out and the cat was clogged so bad the car wouldnt start. Runs like a champ now.
My secondary throttle solenoid connector broke so i was thinking about hooking hte secondary throttle directly up to vacuum. i know I will probably lose some low end torque but are there any other adverse effects to this?
Problem was the catalytic converter. I pulled the exhaust and it fired right up. Thanks for all the help troubleshooting it. I was stumpted seeing as my timing was on and I was getting spark and fuel I guess I just wasnt getting air. You should have seen that damn thing. It looked like the exxon...
Damn man this has been a mess, turns out I was doing everything right with the damn car and I pulled the exhaust today to find a black completely saturated and clogged cat. After pulling hte Exhaust the car fired up for the first time since I got it. Son of a bitch
oops failed to mention its an NA. I meant the distributor not the CPS. Also on the TSRM it specifically states to align the groove on the distributor housing with the protrusion on the driven gear. The only problem is that there is no protrusion on the driven gear?
