I picked up a 86.5 today and cant get it started. i did the Fuel pump jumper test and the paperclip damn near burned my finger off. Think the fuel pump is dead? I hear a whirring but its coming from under the hood.
Recently I have run into a strange overheating problem. Daily driving is not really affected but everytime i take the Supra out on the interstate and get back into town it overheats at the first stoplight. I mean the heat goes up quick!!! If i turn the car off and then back on again it drops to...
I see a lot of these headers on ebay and want to order one but it looks as though the O2 sensor bung is too far back for the stock O2 sensor to reach. Can someone enlighten me on this? Also, where do the headers mate to? Do they go all the way back to the cat?
Just wondering if anyone has ever mounted a supercharger to a 7mge. It looks pretty easy. I designed a Eaton MP62 system for my Escort GT and it worked great. i figure I could mount a M62 to the side of the engine and run off of an Accessory belt and have the intake flange pull from the VAF and...
You could always setup a turbo on a NA for low boost with a FMU, Retarded timing, manifold, elbow, Downpipe, Turbo, BOV. This would be good for around 5Psi and you could piece it together for around $800.00 easy. Granted you would max out at around 230-240HP. But thats like a stock 7MGTE.
Standard powder coating will not withstand the temperature however there is a "high Temperature" powder coating available that will handle it easily. its a bit more expensive but worth it IMO.
Is there a noticable benefit in going with a lightweight driveshaft? Are there composite/graphite driveshafts available for the MKIII NA 5-Speed? Anyone have a source for a low cost aluminum direct replacement?
I bought some cheapo Lightning Audio 4" speakers fro the front of my 88 NA supra and they sound like crapola. Can someone recommend a good set of 4" speakers that will sound good with a basic JVC CD player rated at 50W per channel?
I dont know much about the turbo supra's but I do know that some boost gauges read in .hg and some read in psi. 4 X psi = about 17-18 .hg so that may be the answer. The supra gauge probably reads in psi both on vacuum and psi while typical boost gauges read in .hg for vacuum and psi for boost.
