As part of my Chump Car build, I need to remove the steering wheel "lock". I would also like to install a steering wheel quick release. Yesterday I pulled the OEM steering wheel, the horn ring, and the electric controls plate........and that's as far as I got. Looking at it, it's not intuitive...
Subscribed, because I'm having a similar problem. 1989 NA with non-operable fuel gauge. Gauge works fine with voltage applied directly to terminals. Brand new sending unit. Low fuel light works, but gauge won't work in car. :(
Please post if you find a soultion.
Yesterday, I installed a used OE exhaust manifold (with new Driftmotion studs), used OE downpipe, and brand new :) Driftmotion 3" catdelete exhaust system. I am very pleased with it. Even though the car is still on jackstands, I started it and ran it for a while, and I think it will do very...
What triggers the 2 small electric radiator fans to turn on?
I am building a 89 Supra NA into a ChumpCar, so I have removed the heating and A/C, but I would like to use these fans to help the oil cooler that I placed in front of the radiator.
OK, I changed the order to a similar cooler but with AN 10 fittings. JEGS was too quick off the mark to ship, so I will have to return the AN 8 stuff for AN 10 stuff.
Thanks for this post. I just used the info to order some parts for an oil cooler. I have been procrastinating trying to figure out what I needed and this helped a lot.
I need a new cat delete exhaust for my 89 Supra NA Chump Car racer build. I have to use the stock exhaust manifold and downpipe or get bagged for penalty laps. This DM system looks like it might work. Will it be less than 92db at 50 feet at WOT? My only other choice would be a custom system...
Interesting, so I can probably do without it?
Other things missing on this car include the big plastic shield that was underneath the engine. Only tiny bits attached to the mounting bolts came with the car. :) Does this do anything for good air flow through the radiator, at speed? I'd kind of...
Was any kind of chin spoiler stock on a 1989 Supra NA Sport Roof, with TEMS and LSD? The car I have came with some kind of mangled piece of metal bolted on the bottom of the plastic bumpercover/valance.
I spent most of the weekend dropping the fuel tank for cleaning. What a PIA. While I'm there, I'm replacing the fuel filter, the fuel pump, and the broken sending unit.
Also, this gave me acccess to the area rearward of the sending unit access panel for the battery box mount. That went OK...
I need to mount a kill switch in my 89 NA as part of the ChumpCar build, so I'm interested in how you are doing yours. I did mount one in a 84 Porsche 911 a year ago, and the hardest part was determining which wire killed the alternator. Have you identified it yet in your Supra?
