    Gas tank feed line kinked

I did the same thing when I was trying to disconnect the fuel filter. Since this is a high pressure fuel line and it's on my race car, I went ahead and bit the bullet and plunked out the coin for an all new fuel pump bracket. Leaking fuel (or anything else for that matter) on the track is...

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

I checked the contents of the Energy Suspension bushings boxes before I started, as others on this board have said that sometimes they received mis-matched parts. Sure enough, the box for the rears contained only 7 of the 2752 bushings and had an extra 2755. I sent Aaron at Driftmotion an...

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Interesting. The Energy bushings showed up yesterday so I'll be working all weekend installing them. Our first race isn't until Nov, so I'll report back about how well they held up.

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Front and rear sets of Energy poly bushings should be here shortly. Since this is a race car, I don't care about the squeak. I may not have time to replace ALL of the bushings before out first race, so I'll start with the ones I had to cut out to replace the frozen camber bolts.

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Couldn't get the Super Pro catalog to load.... Whiteline's webpage says: Made of Energy's HYPERFLEX performance polyurethane to add performance and durability..... So are they the same as Energy's bushings?

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

'Preciate it. Ordering the Energy poly bushings and some new camber bolts.

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Thanks, guys. I may just go with Energy polys front and rear and take the penalty hit. Wouldn't this be a worthwhile performance enhancer for a road racing car?

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Nobody? Any other bushings besides the Driftmotion Energy?

Front lower control arm bushings ONLY?

Dealing with the seized camber bolts. :( Am I correct in looking at Toyotapartsoverstock website: buying just the replacement bushings for the front lower control arm is not available? The only ones I see are the Energy poly bushings set on Driftmotion. This is for my ChumpCar racer and I...

    Power Steering Pressure Hose

I just wish the repair of the seized camber bolts would go so smoothly. :(

    Power Steering Pressure Hose

Old thread, I know, but I wanted to thank Silver MK3 for his great write-up. I had to replace this hose this weekend and it was a great help. Since my car is a ChumpCar endurance racer, the A/C has been removed, so that made it easier. I was able to remove and replace the hose without...

Source for Headlight Switch? Part is Discontinued

Yes, I looked into buying a headlight switch last month and I couldn't find a new one either. TPO told me it was not available, but that one for a later model would probably work. Tubby offered to sell me a used one from a '90. Since I'm building a ChumpCar, I opted to remove the headlight...

    24 Hours of Lemons Build

Too bad John hasn't posted here since 2012. I hope nothing has happened to him. I'm in the middle of a Chump Car build of a 1989 NA Supra and this thread was fascinating reading.

    Fuel Guage not working

Fixed it this weekend. I was under the dash tidying up some wire and found a ground that was not connected. Duh.

    Light Switch on 89 Supra

Didn't work for me. Never could get the headlights to light up using #10 on the integration relay. Besides, I needed to remove the stalk anyway, and once I figured out the right combo, it was easier to tap into the wires at the connector than at the relay.

    Light Switch on 89 Supra

Found (finally) the two wires in the connector that make the low beams come on! Now I can wire up some rocker switches and get rid of the stalk.

    Make Clutch Feel New Again?

I bled mine (along with the brakes) over the weekend and it made a huge difference in the height of the engagement, raising it from near the floor to only having about 1 inch of freeplay. I used a 10mm 6 sided hex socket on a extending handle Harbor Freight ratchet to break the bleeder valve...

    Light Switch on 89 Supra

Resurrecting old thread because I could use some help with a similar problem. I'm building a 1989 NA into a ChumpCar endurance racer. We race day and night so I need functioning headlights. The headlight stalk switch is worn out and I'd like to replace it and to get it out of the way of drivers...

Duplicolor paint shop paints review/write up

I wish I had a compressor big enough to power a paint gun. I've been buying cans of Duplicolor Dark Grey Metallic on Amazon, to paint the bad spots on my Supra Chump Car build. Since the car will probably get beat to crap on the racetrack, I'm not going for a perfect finish, but matching the...

    Need help with steering column

I finally figured out how to remove the steering wheel lock, luckily without having to disassemble the steering column. It was actually pretty simple to do, once I figured out how it worked. The parts are NOT shown in any of the manuals I have; I guess they don't want people doing this, but it...
